4-H Club plan
Garden Club
As our club "Taking A Look
At Yourself" draws near the
end, we are looking forward
to our Achievement Day, May 3
The Cotton Jenny's started with
12 girls and 12 girls finished
their blouses and books.
We learned how to choose
clothes for our wardrobe and
we made many samples such
as French seam, flat feld seam,
reinforced curve seam, Taylor's
tack and slip stitch hem.
As spring has come our
thoughts turn to gardens and our
home. On April 30 we will
•start our garden club. We would
like to invite all girls age 12
to 26 to join us at the Hay
Township Hall, at 7:30 p.m.
As we all know its greatto
be able to go out into your
garden and have fresh veget-
ables. come out on April 30
and see what it's all about.

Golden Glimpses
No doubt we are all sitting
back hoping for some balmy
weather, however, we were
lucky that the deluge of rain
oder the weekend was not snow
or we would still be digging
out.
Monday evening was film
night, followed by refreshments,
As mentioned before, visitors
are always welcome to join the
residents for this hour of enter-
tainment.
On Monday afternoon the
residents enjoyed an outing in
the bus covering the area of
Hensall, Clinton and Bayfield
areas.
The sympathy of the residents
and staff is extended to the fam-
ilies of the late Mrs. Emma
Kipfer and Mr. Hugh Berry.
Some of the staff members
and Ladies Auxiliary members
attended the Annual Regional
Conference during the week
held at Huronview, Clinton.
On Wednesday evening, the
children from the Gospel Hall
Sunday School, Grand Bend,
provided an evening of music
for the residents in the dining
room.
We wish to welcome two new
residents to the Home. Mrs;
Melissa Gardner of the Parkhill

Whereas they hope poor sinner
What are you going to do,
Hope is a God-given anchor
Lavished so freely on you.
If it is fixed in the Saviour
On that bright shore you will
land
But if in sin you still linger
Sad --your end!

Sunday evening we held our
semi-annual smorgasbord dinn-
er for the residents and their
families. As usual we had a full
house. We are indebted to Mrs.
Lenora Turkheirn who presided'
at the organ during the late
afternoon and all during the
dinner hour which provided a
pleasant background for our
visitors. There were approxim-
ately 150 guests present exclud-
ing residents and staff. We wish
to thank the members of the
Ladies Auxiliary and regular
staff members who assisted dur-
ing the afternoon and evening
in the serving of the meals.
During the afternoon tickets
were sold on an angelfood
cake, proceeds for the Bunny
Bundle. Mr. Jack Traquair, St.
Thomas, a dinner guest of his
mother, Mrs. Edna Traquair,
won the cake and the ticket was
drawn by little Robbie Middle-
ton, Winghairi, a great grandson
and guest of Mrs. Alda Simmons
Mr. A.F. Edmunds, Barrie,
son-in-law and guest of Mrs,
Finnigan donated a lovely tray
as a door prize. The draw was
made by Mrs. Edmunds Jr., of
Waterloo and was won by Mr.
.Kenneth Sturley, Belfontaine,
a grandson of Mrs. Mary Sturley,'
' All in all, the day was a
;most pleasant one for both res-
lidents and guests.
