Members decided that the May meeting would be held on May 13^because of the Zone rally being on the regular meet- ing night. Margaret Thorndyke, Zone Commander of Zone Cl made her official visit and gave a report on the convention and the work of the Zuxiliaries during the past year. Past pres- ident Mildred Chalmers present- ed Mrs. Thorndyke with a gift. Members decided to hold the annual penny sale with the draw to be made on June 6. Members also decided to canc- el the New Year's- Dance for 1975. Sports officer, Iva Reid, gave a report on sports and announced several bowling tournaments corning up. The guessing prize was won by Mary Bisback, attendance prize by Gerry Chappel and the mystery prize by Vera Smale. CHURCH MEETING The regular meeting of St. Paul's C. A.C.W. was held Thurs- day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Middleton. After packing a bale for the north, the meet- ing opened with the minutes of the last meeting being read and approved. A report on the Deanery meeting in Stratford was given. Invocation was read by the president, Mrs. Anderson, with the members taking part in the meditation. The script- ure was from St. Matthew. The Litany was followed by the Lord's prayer, and the meeting -closed with grace. UNITED CHURCH NOTES "On Nothingness" was the sermon topic Rev. Doh Beck preached on at Hensall United Church on Sunday morning, The choir sang the anthem "In the masters steps" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Turkheim. The Chiselhurst U.C. are sponsoring a bake sale on Saturday, April 26, at 3 p.m., in Joynt's store in Hensall. ANGLICAN CHURCH An evening service was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church. Rev. G.A. Anderson's sermon was from Matthew "What think ye of Christ?" Mrs. Eric Luther and Mrs. J.C. Britton sang a duet "Great is thy faithfullness, and Mrs. Luther also sang a solo "Nearer the Cross." The Forrest orchestra played before and after the service and also for the hymns during the service. Mrs. Leonard Noakes visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Peebles and family in London, also visit- ed in Guelph with Dr. and Mrs. David Noakes and Jeffrey. ATTEND SEMINAR Bob Caldwell and Tom Mun- roe, of Hyde Brothers Farin Equipment Limited in Hensall, recently participated in a two day business management sem- inar conducted by the Agricult- ural Equipment Divisions of the Allis-Chalmers Corp. in Mil-' waukee, Wis. Hensall willbe organizing a Ladies Softball team this season. Any girl interested in trying out, please meet at the Hensall ball park on April 28 at 7 p. m. Noakes, Zoology, Univ- ersity of Guelph, and eight graduate students attended the annual conference of Ontario Ethologists held recently at Queens University, Kingston. Highlights from Queensway Mrs. Rochus Faber, as convert or of the W.M.S. of Carmel Presbyterian Church and her group entertained the residents Monday afternoon by playing bingo. Mrs. Dougall and Mrs. Bell conducted a sing song. Rev. Roeda of the Christian Reform Church in Exeter cond- ucted the church service on Tuesday, with Louise Mitchell accompanying on the piano. Visitors during the week were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Schenk and Mrs. Margaret Clarke with Mr. Schenk, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Miller, and Mrs. MacDonald with Roy MacDonald. Jeff and Bessie Robinson with PAGE 3 Arthur Braggy Bill, Donna, Jimmy and Donald Perry with Ernie Perry. Allen and Bernice Olson, London, Fanny Clarke, Rose Pyke and H.J. "Bud" Dilling with Anna Dilling, - With Mrs. Elizabeth Sararas were Mrs. Alexander, John and Greta Reid, Mississauga, Mrs. Sararas grandson and his fin- ance Ian Reid and Cathy Mont- gomery of Mississauga. Gladys McDonald and Barb- ara Tiedeman, Exeter, visited with Ruby Minors, P. Branderhorst with Isabel Sproat, Mrs. Ada Smillie was visited by her daughter Mrs. McNaught- on and Mrs. Alexander. Alma Hess and Minnie Noakes visited residents at different times during the week.
