Rest home auxiliary entertain
The ladies of the Blue Water
Rest Horne Auxiliary entertain-
ed the residents under the
convenorship of Mrs. Gertrude
Fleischauer and her cominittee,
Mrs. Thelma Thiel and Mrs.
Pearl Gingerich, The program
opened by all singing "The
Old Rugged Cross, " accompan-
ied by Mrs. Fleischauer on the
piano.
Mrs. Helen Gingerich, Audrey
Ruth and Paul favoured the
group with three beautiful
numbers, Come to the Waters,

directors meet
The South Huron District
Women's Institute Board meet-
ing opened with the Institute
Ode and Mary Stewart Collect
at Hensall United Church on
April 1, 1975. After the reading
of the minutes and the roll call
by Mrs. Gordon Elliott, Seafortt
President, Mrs. James Keyes,
also of Seaforth dealt with the
business on the agenda.
A letter from Mrs. Herb
Maluske, F , W . I. D . president,
informed the members on Int-
ernational Women's year.
June 1975 was chosen as the
month to participate. All
members were invited by ARC
Industries to tour their building
in Dashwood.
A pot luck dinner will be
enjoyed at the District Annual,
which will be held in Dashwood
on May 15, 1975. Mrs. Diam-
ond from New Hamburg will be
guest speaker for this occasion.
It was decided to have a
craft table at the area convent-
ion in St. Thomas this fall.

A reading, "The Good Old
Days, " was given by Mrs. Mary
McKinnon, after which Mrs.
Gingerich and family sang,
"Near the Cross, We'll Never
grow old and "Show me Thy
Way which were very much
enjoyable.
April Fool was rendered by
a trio;- Gertnide Fleischauer,
Thelma Thiel and Pearl Ging-
erich, accompanied by Mary
McKinnon on the piano.
Mrs. Fleischauer thanked
Mrs. Gingerich and family for
their fine contribution after
which a delicious lunch was
served; cup cakes in little
baskets trimmed in Easter
colours. All was thoroughly
enjoyed.
The regular monthly meeting
followed in the board room with
Mrs. Gladys Gingerich presid-
ing. Plans were made to keep
members busy through April
and May.
The next meeting will be on
May 6 at 7:30 p.m. with Mrs.
Brisson as convenor.

Playoff schedule
for badminton
After a two week layoff the
Zurich Badminton League will
begin it's playoffs. Tuesday
night, April 15, will be the
start of the quarter final. Be-
low is the schedule and times.
On Tuesday, April 22, the semi.
finals and consolation will be
played off. The finals will be
played on April 29.
The 16 team league has been
divided into two groups in
accordance to their position in
the standing after the regular
league play with the top eight
teams playing off for the "A"
Championship and the remain-
ing eight for the "B" title.

Goderich brothers
die suddenly
Two Goderich brothers, both
natives of this area, passed
away within several hours of
each other on Friday, April 4.
Leonard Overholt died in Univ-
ersity Hospital, London, and
Francis E. Overholt died at his
residence in Goderich.
Leonard is survived by his
wife, the former Della Randall,
a daughter, Marjorie, Mrs.
Murray Holland, of Mississauga,
and a son, Gordon, of Goderich.
Francis is survived by his
wife, the former Edna May
Brindley, and two sons, Donald,
of St. Catharines, and Douglas,
of Thedford.
The brothers are survivied by
one brother, Lawrence, of
Goderich, and three sisters,
Anna, Mrs. Dr. W.B. Coxnn,
of Zurich; Mrs. Maisie Sloan,
of Toronto, and Mrs. Bella
Turnbull, of Parkhill.
Funeral services were held
in Goderich on Monday, at
11 a.m. with interment inMait-
land Cemetery.
Peewees
wind-up
The Zurich Peewees ended
their season with a loss to
Seaforth in the Zone "A"
playoffs. It was a close game
but the Seaforth goalie manag-
ed some excellent saves to
put their team out front, 2-1.
Seaforth scored near the end
of the first period from Neil-
son. Zurich rallied in the sec-
ond when Len Van Wonderers
scored from Jeff McKinnon and
Jim Willert. Then Seaforth got
their winning goal in the last
frame from Anstett.
However, Zurich Peewees
managed to bring home four
trophies for their efforts this
season. They won the Runner -
Up "D" Championship Trophy at
the Watford Silver Stick Tourna-
ment, the "D" Championship
trophy at the Lucan Shamrock
Tournament, the W,O,A,A.
Championship "E" trophy and
the "D" Consolation Trophy
at Young Canada Week in
Goderich.
In this season, the team had
39 wins, two ties and 12 losses
in a total of 53 games played.
