Huron Centennial
STUDENT TEACHERS

The last two weeks, the grade
five class at'H.C,S, has had
a new student teachers. Her
Warne is Miss Stevenson. The
first few days she watched
from the back of the class,
marking papers and other things
On Thursday, of the first week,
she got up in the afternoon,
teaching us about Marco Polo.
The next day she taught lang-
uage and math. On Monday of
this week, she taught every-
thing, and for the rest of this
week she'll be teaching. I
really enjoyed these last few
days while Miss Stevenson has
been teaching.
GRADE I GOES TO BAKERY
On March 4, we rode on the
bus to Hensall. Mr. Mathers
let us out near the bakery. Mr,
and Mrs. Duttman showed us
around the bakery. We even
had a treat each. We used our
senses - especially our noses.
The trip bacl< was a very happy
one.
SCIIOOL CONCERT

Orr Thursday, March 6 .
grades 3, 4, and 5 of Huron
Centennial School put on a
concert called "Up Canada"
This was for parents, children
and other people who wanted .
to corse. We had a dress -rehear
sal on March 5. Parents were
invited to it too. We had New -
fie Jokes, dances, songs,
R. CP's on horses, a French
play and other acts. They told
us a story of Canada. We had
lots of fun.
HURON VIE W PERFOR'iIANCE

On Monday, March 10. we
put on the Grade 3, 4, and 5
concert at Iluronview. The
concert was called "Up Canada'
There were about 220 students
involved. In the concert,
there were dancers, sailors, a
flag drill, choir and many more
When we were finished, some
people gave us candies. Then
we got on our buses and drive
to the school., arriving there at
3:30. Witen we were off the
bus, we grabbed our coats and
hoots, and rushed for our buses

BLUE WATER REST HOME
I guess we would have to
admit that the Easter finery got
a very cool reception on the
weekend, in fact March cert-
ainly blew itself out bringing
us some of the most blustery
weather of the winter. Now that
weather reports will be given in
terms of celsius readings, a
goodly number of us will likely

Mrs. Muriel Harrison of God-
erich was guest soloist for the
Sunday morning chapel service
conducted by the Chaplain of
the Horne, Rev. McWhinni.e,
The residents enjoyed an hour
of fine music on Sunday even-
ing provided by the i3elgrave
Men's Choir. The choir of 28
voices along with their leader
Rev. Roberts sang several sacr-
ed numbers and old favourites.
\iiss Doreen Coultes gave a
reading during the intermission,
Mr, Charles Coultes thanl<ecl the
entertainers on behalf of the
residents.
Marie Flynn, Norman Spell.,
Jerry Collins and Philip Regeir
provided the old tyme music
for Monday's get together.
Debbie Flynn danced two step
dance numbers accompanied at
the piano by her mother with
vocal solos by Morgan Dalton.
Mrs. Prouti of Exeter who has
just returned from a vacation
in Florida conducted the Tues-
day bible study. Mrs. Fremlin
played the piano for the resid-
ents. Hymn sing followed the
Bible Study.
Members of the Eastern Star
Lodge of Wingham will be
providing the "Family Night"
program onMarch 27. We will
have further details of the
program in next week's issue,

erly citizens will no doubt find
it rather confusing.
Film night is still being
enjoyed on Monday evenings,
Quite a number of residents
enjoyed visits from friends and
relatives over the Easter holiday:
and also were out visiting with
their families.
On Thursday evening the
ladies of the Ntenuonite Church
held a social evening for the
residents. Crol<inole and cards
were played, which was a nice
change for the residents. Ref-
reshments were served.
Bingo was played on Friday
evening and a social time enjoy,
ed.
The Easter Sunday evening
chapel service was conducted
by Rev. Andrew Blackwell
of St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Zurich. Mrs, Gertrude Fleisch-
auer presided at the organ during
the service.
Accidents in the bathroom
can be prevented if a few pre-
cautionary measures are taken.
A well -anchored grab bar bes-
ide the bathtub is a handy aid
when stepping out of a wet tub,
suggests St. John Ambulance,
Traction mats or rubber strips
in bathtubs and showers are
useful devices to avoid painful
falls.
