INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE

We opened our Bayfield I
4-H Club meeting on March 10
at the home of Mrs. Margaret
Garrett with the 4-H Club
Pledge and Motto. We named
our club "Blousie Beauties."
We discussed what we would
take for our next project and
decided on "Let's Make Bread."
We then measured our sizes
and looked at patterns for mak-
ing a blouse. Our next meeting
is on March 25 at Mrs. Garretts
at7p.m.
LADIES GUILD
The March meeting of the
Ladies Guild of Trinity Anglic-
an Church was held in the Par-
ish Hall on Tuesday evening
March 11. Eleven members were
present.
We are sorry to know that our
president, Mrs. R. Roy Fitzsim-
ons is still ill, so the meeting
was presided over by the vice-
president, Mrs. Merton Merner.
She read the scripture lesson
from the 16th chapter of St.
Matthew and all repeated the
Lord's Prayer in unison.
A card was signed by all and
sent to our president wishing
her a speedy recovery.
Secretary, Mrs. Lloyd Scot-
chmer read her report of the
last meeting which was adopted,
Many cards of thanks had been
received and several sympathy
cards were sent out. All corr-
espondence was moved for filing
Mrs. Bessie Hulls and Mrs.
K. Mutzelburg both paid birth-
day money.
A report from the treasurer,
Mrs. Merton Merner was approv
ed, and it was moved that all
outstanding bills be paid;
including a sum of money to
the Card and Flower Secretary
to carry on her work.
The question of church plates
for sale was discussed but owing
to some changes probably being
made the purchase and sale of
these plates has been postponed
for a few weeks.
The April meeting will be
held Tuesday evening April 8,
in the Parish Hallat 8 p.m. with
Mrs. Ken Lynn as hostess.

Our fourth meeting of Bay-
field II 4-H Classy Lassies was
held March 17 at the home of
Mrs. Joan Merner. We opened
our meeting with the 4-H Pledge
then we had our business period
in which we discussed what had
to be done on Achievement Day
We then laid our blouse pattern
on our material. Our next
meeting will be held on March
25 at Mrs. Merner's. We then
closed our meeting.
Several Village residents
attended the Annual meeting
of the Tuckersmith Municipal
Telephone System in the IOOF
Hall in Brucefield, Wednesday
evening, March 19. At that
time Percy Johnson of Bayfield
was acclaimed for a three year
term as one of the five commis-
sioners.
Jim Mackie of London is
spending this week with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Makins.
Darlene and John Smale,
London are spending a few days
of their spring break with
their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs,,
R. Roy Fitzsimons and uncles
Terry and Kelso.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Brady on the arrival
of their baby son.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill RayBroek,
Marc, Todd and Darin, of Wind.
sor visited with Mr. and Mrs.
R. Roy Fitzsimons on Friday on
their way to Goderich where
Marc was playing hockey in
the Young Canada Series.
Friends will remember Bill when
he was manager of the Bayfield
Branch of the Bank of Commerce
when it was first opened here.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard F.
Sturgeon, Jeff and Rollie,
Orangeville, visited Thursday
and Friday with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon
and brother Andrew.
Mrs. Lloyd Scotchmer visited
with her family Howard and
Nancy and grandchildren Robert,
Lori and Carolyn in Chatham
last week. They all returned to
the village on Friday and
Howard, Nancy and children
will spend the spring break in
Bayfield and with Nancy's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Ovens in Mitchell.
Miss Wendy Greer, Wilfred
Laurier University, Waterloo,
was with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs, Bert Greer and sister Patti,
R.R.3, Bayfield for the weekend
Mr. Stephen Farris, Toronto
will be conducting a Service in
Knox Presbyterian Church on
Easter Sunday at 11 a.m. Mrs.
Loveday of London will be
guest organist for the service.
Mr. and Mrs. John Pounder,
Sarnia, were weekend guests
of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Pounder at their home in
the village.
Remember the Ever Young
Senior Citizens meeting on
Thursday evening March 27 at
7:30 p.m. in the Municipal
Building. We welcome all
Senior Citizens and can assure
them they will enjoy a happy
evening with us.
Mr. Bud Sturgeon and Miss
Barbara Davidson, London spent
the weekend with his parents
Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon
and Andrew.
Best wishes to Mrs. Lorraine
Healy who is recuperating at
the home of Mrs. Margaret
Garrett following surgery in
Victoria Hospital, London.
