IRMA HARRIS Mrs, Irma Harris, the form- er Irma Rannie, passed away at the Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall, on Wednesday, March 19 in her 79th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard Harris, and dear sister of Sam Rannie, of Hensall. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one Ruth. The late Mrs. Harris rested at the Bonthron Funeral Chapel in Hensall until Friday, March when the funeral service was held with Rev. W. Jarvis offic- iating. Temporary entombment in Ingersoll mausoleum, with burial to be at a later date in the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery. DERWOOD WINDOVER At his late residence in Hensall, on Sunday, March 23, Derwood F. Windover passed awayin his 68thyear. He was the husband of the former Marjorie G. Cowan, Also surviving are his father, Merkley Windover, of Belle- ville, and one brother, Everett of Frankfort. Thelate Mr. Windover rested at the Bonthron Funeral Chanel , in Hensall where funeral sere - , ice took place on Tuesday, March 25 with Rev. G.A. And- erson of St. Paul's Anglican Church officiating, Interment in Oakland cemetery, Delaware, 0 Isabel Brintnell, Leonard Bragg, of St, Marys visited with his father Arthur Bragg. Dr, and Mrs. Johnny Corr, Jamie, Jody and Jay, of Windsor visited with Mary Pal- mer. Mr, and Mts. John Alcock visited with Cora Alcock. ST, PAUL'S CHURCH ACW The regular meeting oi the St. Paul's A.C.W. was held Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. F. Forrest. After sing- ing hymn 593, the president, Mrs. Anderson, opened the meeting with everyone takingsister, part in the Litany. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The roll call was answered by a Biblical'21, "time" verse. It was decided to pack a bale at the next meeting. The study book "Meet criticism with serenity" was given by Helen Roberts, Discussions and ways of making • moneywere discussed, The , Annual Diocesian Council meet- ing will be held on May 1 in London. The president announc- ed the Deanery meeting in Stratford on April 16. A piano instrumental by Sandra Mc- Curdy was much enjoyed. The meeting closed with the bene- diction. Sunday, March 30, at 6:30 a.m. will be an Easter Sunrise Service, and at 11 a.m. the Celebration of Easter service will be held in the Hensall United Church and at 1 p.m. in the Chiselhurst church. PERFECT HAND Mrs. Robert Middleton,while playing a game of cribbage withSTAG • her husband recentlyheld a count of 29, which is a perfect hand. There is no bigger count in cribbage and this rarely occurs. UNITED CHURCH NOTES Rev. Don Beck preached on the sermon topic "God's surp- rises" for the Palm Sunday service in Hensall United Church on Sunday morning, The choir sang the anthem, :Hosannah, hosannah, to Christ our accompanied on the Kin S• " accom p organ by Mrs. Turkheim. Maudy Thursday service will be held on March 27 at 7:30 p.m. when the sacrament of Holy Communion will then be held for both the Hensall and Chiselhurst congregations. Highlites from Queensway Queensway Nursing Horne this week welcomes a new resident, Mrs. Elizabeth Sararas who was visited by her family Doris Bonthron, Ross Sararas and Mrs. McDonald. Lawrence Wein, of Exeter, visited the home last Tuesday morning and entertained the residents by playing the piano and singing. Rev. Glen Wright of Exeter conducted the church service on Thursday, with Louise Mitchell accompanying on the piano. On Saturday, the Kinette Y= Club, of Hensall presented the • home with a potted Easter Lily and also a potted mum, The Chiselhurst UCW were in charge on Monday afternoon and played bingo with the resi- dnets.
