The devotional part of the program was held in the sanct- uary of the church. Rev. G. Youmatoff of Bayfield was the guest speaker, choosing as his topic his experiences with other clergymen in the work of the Church in Jamaica. After an hour of fellowship the business meeting was cond- ucted by the president, Mrs. Harvey Hohner. The L.C.W. decided to send a gift of money to the Lutheran Church Camp Edgewood. Mrs. Mae Davidson and Mrs. Ted Steinbach were welcomed as new members. Mrs. L. Prang, convenor, and ladies on Group II provided the refreshments. Mrs. V. Dinnin, Mrs. M. Doerr, Mrs. A. Everyone Welcome Golden Glimpses . . s g March has brought in some of our most blustery weather of the winter, but spring cannot be too far off, as some of the resid- ents have enjoyed a treat of the first maple syrup of the season. The residents enjoyed films on Monday evening, followed by a social time. Congratulations are in order for Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lawson who celebrated their forty- fourth wedding anniversary on March 11. On Tuesday morning, we were pleased to welcome Mr. Law- rence Wein back after a vacat- ion and the residents enjoyed an hour of singing in the dining room. Tuesday afternoon was a beau, tiful sunny day and a bus tour of the area along the lake and Grand Bend area gave the resid- ents something different to think about. The Ladies Auxiliary have set up a quilt in the hobby shop and would welcome any quilters who might have a few minutes to help along with the project. A misprint in last week's issue mistakingly named Mrs. Leroy O'Brien and Mrs. Lewis Boshart as being elected to the Board at the Annual meeting in A short course, "Baked in a Pie" sponsored by Zurich Women's Institute will be held in Hay Township Hall on Tues- day afternoon, March 25, at 1 p.m, All homemakers in the com- munity are invited to attend and bring along a favourite pie recipe. On Wednesday evening, the regular monthly birthday party was sponsored by the Ladies of the Dashwood United Church. A variety program was provided consisting of piano and violin selections by Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love, Mrs. Maxine Gaiser and Mrs. Ross Love favoured with a duet. Little Miss Kim Gaiser played a piano solo "0 Danny Boy." Misses Susan Grigg and Patsy Bender favoured with an accordian duet. The two little Gowanlock sisters delighted the audience with ballet numbers. Residents having birthdays during the month of March and receiving gifts were Mrs. Jenny Hotson, Mrs. Alice Phillips, Mr. Franz Pertschi, Mr. Hugh Berry, Mr. William Passmore and Mr. Andrew Dougall. Following the program refresh- ments were served and a social time was enjoyed. On Friday afternoon bingo was played under the supervisior of Ivlrs. Mary Ellen Gingerich in the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Risi who are on vacation. The Sunday evening chapel service was conducted by Rev. Donald Beck, of the Hensall United Church. Mrs. Lenora Turkheitn presided at the organ and accompanied Miss Mary Goodwin, Mrs. Pearl Passmore, Mr. Harry Horton and Jeff Beck who rendered vocal numbers. Sewing Supremes make plans (by Elizabeth Groot) The 4-H meeting was held at the home of Martha Neeb , The roll call for meeting five was "My suggestions for our Achieve. ment Day exhibit, " or demonst- rations. Some suggestions were colour scheme and colours that mix and match. For our discussion we discuss- ed our plans for Achievement Day. We chose colour scheme for our 4-H exhibit. We also decided to make a large colour wheel to go along with our exhibit. Jane Willert and Elizabeth Groot were chosen to speak about the exhibit on Achieve- ment Day, May 3. We also discussed stay stitch- ing and grain of fabric. For our home assignment we are to prepare our blouses for fitting and bring to next meeting.
