Her reports
at meeting
Mrs. Jean Cann reported
for the Education Committee at
a recent meeting of the Huron
Perth Lung Association. Mrs.
Cann said the Association had
conducted a successful "Cons-
ideration Week" during Nat-
ional Education Week on Smok-
ing. In her report she emphas-
ized the award of a Respiratory
Technology Bursary to Joanne
Broeze, of Varna, a second
year student at Fanshawe Coll-
ege.
Other routine reports were
given by Miss Verna Dunsmore,
Rehabilitation and Patient
Services, G. Prest, Finance
A. Densmore, Christmas Seal.
Miss Dunsmore reported that
Physical Conditioning classes
for children with asthma would
begin in Clinton on April 5
and Stratford on April 7. She
also reported that a Smoking
Withdrawal "Countdown" would
begin in Goderich on April 7.
Breathing classes for adults with
chest problems are increasing
in number and interest. A 9
week Swim Exercise class has
been held for the asthmatic
child during the winter months
and in the Summer the Associat•
ion will be sponsoring a "Day
Camp" for asthmatic children
in co-operation with the "Y"
program and using "Y" facilit-
ies.
Mr. Dunsmore reported that
$39, 2 93. 25 had been the final
total of the Christmas Seal '74
Campaign and thanked the
community for its support in
this case when the economy is
suffering unemployment probl-
ems.

Miss Linda Bell is in Paris
for the Spring Break.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jack-
son have returned home from a
holiday in the south.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lovell
are holidaying in Hawaii.
Mr. David Lovell has joined
the spring break tour to Spain.
Mrs. Esther Moffat has gone
on a three week tour to Florida.
Mrs. Jack Cooper has return-
ed home after undergoing tests
in St. Joseph's Hospital , Lond-
on.

are spending the Spring Break in
Sault Ste Marie with Mr. and
Mrs. Steve Pine and family.
Mr. Elzar Mousseau, who
has been in Seaforth Hospital
since January has returned home
Mr. Jamie Cladwell is touring
Paris, during the Spring Break.
Florida visitors -during the
spring break are Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Bell and family and Mr.
and Mrs. Laird Finlayson and
family.
4-H CLUB
The first meeting of Kippen
1I 4-H Club was held at the
home of Mrs. Jack Bell and the
election of officers took place.
Officers, president, Sue Anne
Finlayson, vice-president,
Mary Jane McGregor; press
reporter, Vicki Bell with a
floating secretary.
The second meeting was held
at the home of Mrs. Laird Fin-
layson when the type of clothes
that suit your figure was discuss-
ed.
The third meeting was held
at the home of Mrs. Jack Bell
when the discussion centred
around differcrent ways to co-
ordinate your wardrobe.
Meeting four was held at
the home of Mrs. Laird Finlay-
son and the topic was laying
on a pattern, cutting and
laying on a blouse.

KIPPEN UCW MEETS
The United Church Women
of St. Andrew's Church, Kippen,
met on March 11 with 19 ladies
present. The president Mrs.
David Turner opened the meet-
ing with a hymn and a reading,
"Easter Eggs".
Correspondence included a
thank -you from Mrs. Lavery of
the Queensway Nursing Home,
for the weekly get-togethers
with the residents' and an invit-
ation from the Arnold Circle
for March 18 at 8:15 p.m.
Replying to a letter from
Clinton Hospital it was decided
to send a donation of $10. It
was also decided to hold a
Smorgasbord Supper on October
22, instead of a strawberry sup-
per and to have a bake sale and
tea on May 31. Since April is
the month of entertaining, the
guests this year will be Zurich,
Varna, Goshen and Brucefield
with the minister Rev Stephens
as guest speaker and showing
films.
To mark the 50th anniversary
of the church Union; a quilt
will be made.
Mrs. Harold Jones took the
worship from Luke 24, verses
1-12, on Easter and Meditation.
Mrs. Edison McLean gave the
topic from the study packet on
Missions. She read an interest-
ing version of "Six gifts to make
your children strong" by Ruth
Stafford Peale which was follow-
ed by a quiz.
The usual reports were pres-
ented, Mrs. David Cooper
gave courtesy remarks.
