Atoms win

On March 10, the Zurich
Atoms travelled to Bayfield
to defeat them 11-4 in the first
game of the play-off series.
Zurich started the scoring
45 seconds into the garne,
when Gordon Love popped one
in from Brian Horner.
Later, in the second period,
Bayfield came back on a goal
by Rickie Johnston from Jeff
Merrier and Brian Vanaken.
Zurich broke the tie on a goal
by Mark Kirk. Zurich went
ahead 3-1 on a goal by Gordon
Love from Mark Kirk at the
nine minute mark of the
second period.
With 34 seconds gone in the
third period Brian Horner scored
when Mark Kirk was in the
penalty box. Later Bayfield
scored three, two by Jeff Mern-
er and one by Rickie Johnston.
Zurich went on a scoring spree
with secen big goals. David
Smith got two and Mark Kirk,
David Erb, John McAllister,
Brian Horner and Dean Armst-
rong each scored once. Zurich's
last goal was scored with five
seconds left in the game.
