at the Bonthron Funeral Home
in Hensall where funeral service
was held on Tuesday. Inter-
ment was in Hensall Union
Cemtery,

Monteith, Eric Cosgrove, Roy
Ellis and Ivan McKay.
4-H club leaders
Over one hundred men and
women from all parts of Ont- .
ario represented over 1, 500
4-H Leaders at the third Annual
Provincial 4-H Agricultural
Club Leaders' Conference held
in Toronto at the King Edward
Hotel, February 21 and 22.
The delegates spent two days
in workshops and
discussion groups which cover-
ed various aspects of the 4-H
agricultural club program.
These included 4-H youth
councils, resource materials
for clubs, social recreation in
4-H, ways to improve local
meet
meetings, and the image and
the role of 4-H in the commun-
4ty.
Club leaders also had the
opportunity tb evaluate local,
regional and provincial prog-
rammes and to make recom-
mendations governing these
programs. "Communicating •
with Teens" was the theme of
Saturday morning's activities
with Ken Lewis, Professor in
Communications from Cent -
ennial College in Toronto,
speaking to the delegates.

Rev. Don Beck spoke on the
Communion meditation "Do
this in memory of me." Memb-
ers welcomed from other
churches included Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Sararas, Dianne and Don-
ald Sararas, Mrs. Mabel Black-
burn and Mrs. Tressa Fletcher.
Those admitted to the session
were Mrs. Grace Drummond,
Doug Mock, Ross Veal, Hans
Gerstenkorn, Lloyd Ferguson,
Roy Brock, Pat O'Brien, Dave
Kyle, Mrs. Florence Slade and
Miss Joan Alexander.
On Friday, March 7, at 3
p.m. the World Day of Prayer
Service will be held in the
Fellowship Hall of Hensall
United Church. Rev. James
Reddock, minister of St.
Andrews United Church in Bay-
field, will be the guest speaker.
EUCHRE WELL ATTENDED
The C.P. & T. Committee
of the Oddfellows and Rebekah
Lodges of Hensall held a euchre
Wednesday evening in the
Lodge rooms. Winners were;
ladies high, Mrs. Gilbert
Johns; ladies low, Mary Broad -participating
foot; men's high, Clarence
Volland; men's low, Roy
MacDonald;' most lone hands;
Mike Connelly. A draw for a
smoked ham was won by Mike
Connelly.

CAPTAIN JOHN BEER
Captain John R. Beer, of
Hensall passed away in Via-
oria Hospital, London, on
Friday, February 28, 1975 in
his 49th year.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Lillian Mitchell, three
sons, David, of Vancouver,
John. and Steven, at home.
Also surviving are his mother,
Mrs. Hilda Beer, of Hensall,
one brother, George of Hensall,
and one sister, Mrs. Ralph
(Elaine) McArthur, of Edront-

Last Tuesday the Church
service was conducted by Rev.
H. VanEssen of the Bethel Ref-
ormed Church in Exeter. Mr.
VanEssen accompanied on the
piano while his wife led in a
hymn sing.
Visitors on the weekend were
Les Mitchell, daughters Brenda
and Barbara with Louise Mit-
chell.
Rose Harris and Susan Mouss-
eau visited with Bernice Lavery.
Clarence Smillie visited with
his mother Ada Smillie. Mrs.
Jessie Angle and Mrs. Isabele
Alcock visited with Cora Al-
cock.
Clarence and Marg Dilling,
Brenda, Brian and Krista visit-
ed with Anna Dilling.
Mary Goodwin visited with he
father Wilfred Goodwin.
Milton Taylor, of Exeter
visited with his mother, Adel-
ine Taylor. Dorothy Brintnell
visited with her sister-in-law
Isabel Brintnell.
The ladies from the Chisel-
hurst U.C.W. entertained the
residents on Monday by playing
Bingo. Mrs. Eva Laing, of
R.R.1, Staffa favoured with
selections on her accordian.
Birthday greetings go out to
Mrs. Isabel Sproat who will be
celebrating her birthday on
March 11.
