4-H groups
hold meetings
(by Lynda Rawlings)
On February 12, seven girls
met for their first meeting of
Zurich II 4-H club. Four girls
were absent. Our course this
club is "What Shall I Wer."
The leaders gave our our books
and described the club.
We first discussed Planning
Your Wardrobe, and making it
a good working wardrobe you
must consider three things,
1. Your appearance, 2. Activ-
ities, 3. What type of person
you are.
We then talked about our own
wardrobe and this week we are
to make a list of all our clothes
we have in our closet.
Next week we will be doing
measurements for our blouse
made of cotton.
On February 19, eight girls
were present and three absent.
We discussed three things we
should know when planning our
wardrobe, they are: line, text-
ure and clour.
We also drew a colour wheel
using the three basic colours,
brown, navy and black. We
then looked at material and
patterns and are to have them
for next week,
(by Elizabeth Groot)
Our first meeting was held at
Martha Neeb's house. In this
club, "What Shall I Wear", we
will be making blouses made our
of cotton or cotton polyester.
The election of officers was
held which follows: president,
Joyce Kir, secretary, Ruby
Beierling, press reporter, Eliz-
abeth Groot. For practical
work everyone did a sample of
a slipstitch.
The second meeting on Feb-
ruary 19 was also held at Martha
Neeb's and we will continue to
have them there. All members
attended the meeting. We voted
on our club name which will be
"Sewing Supremes." In this unit
the juniors will be responsible
for only four samples of techni-
que in their books. The seniors
will be responsible for six
samples. Next week we are to
bring our pattern and material
and tell why we cbose it. The
meeting was adjourned at 9:20.

Time passes so quickly that
it seems we have just been
wondering if the groundhog
would show up to see his shad-
ow, 'now its a case of whether
it will be the lion or the lamb
that will be along over the
week -end to usher in the month
of March.
Films were shown on Monday
evening, and the days are bec-
oming noticeably longer, how-
ever, we are hoping that with
the installation of new lined
drapery in our dining -room that
it will enable us to continue
with the films much longer
than was previously the case.
On Wednesday evening, the
children of the Gospel Hall
Sunday School, Grand Bend,
visited the Horne and provided
a musical program for the resi-
dents.
No doubt you have noticed
by the paper that on Tuesday
evening, March 4, at 8 p.m.,
the annual meeting of the Home
will take place in the Home.
All interested parties are invit-
ed to attend.
Friday was such a beautiful
sunny day that the residents were
out for their first bus ride of the
season. They drove along the
lake and into Goderich and all
seemed to have enjoyed the
winter scenery as well asthe
outing. On Friday evening the
regular bingo was held followed
by refreshments.
