Since the letter was extremely complimentary to the local Bantams, it was forwarded to us for publication in this news- paper. January 13, 1975 Shedden, Ont. Dear Sir; As you probably know, the Shedden Bantams won the Consolation "E" tournament at your Arena last Saturday night, and as winners won a lovely medal. However, I didn't see the defeated Zurich team presented with one for being runners-up. While I realize that every team entered received a crest and that you can't give med- allions to the losers of consolat- ion finals would it be possible to make an exception in this case? The Shedden- Zurich game ended at midnight Saturday. Both teams were tired, and although our sons were winning 6-1 the Zurich team fought hard until the final buzzer • to tie the game. Afterwards both teams lined up on the ice. Zurich waited while each Shedden player and coach were presented with medallions. When the presentation was over and they knew they would not receive an award, the Zurich boys were men enough to bang sticks on the ice to applaud our team. They must have been terribly tired and disappointed, but in defeat they were the epitomy of "good sports." They set an excellent example for all Minor Hockey.
