Mrs. Allan Gascho led the worship service, opening with a poem, "How Great the Love of God." The hymn "More Love to Thee, " was sung. The theme for the month was Love. Very worthwhile thoughts were presented by Mrs. Leonard Merrier entitled "The Art of -Life, " and "It's the little things that count." A piano instrumental, Div- ine Comfort, and a medley of hymns was played by Mrs. Delbert Geiger. The responsive scripture on "The Vine and the branches" as recorded in John, Chapter 15, was read and Mrs. Gascho offer- ed prayer. The offering was received by Mrs. Merrier and Mrs. Claus- ius, followed by the hymn "My Jesus I love Thee." A filth, "Heritage for the future" was shown commemorat- ing the 50th anniversary of the United Church of Canada. Rev. Guy was in charge of the filen and concluded by giving an explanation of the symbols on the crest of the United Church. A 50th anniversary hymn writ- ten by Rev. Clifford Park was sung. In the absence of the presid- ent, Mrs. Ward Neeb, second vice-president presided for the business. It was decided to do quilting the second Thursday in March, and to have the March meeting that day as well. The Presbyterial is to be at Listowel on February 26. Mrs. Newell Geiger requested that the day for visitation at the Blue Water Rest Horne be changed to the first Wednesday of the month. You'll never meet success— get a hustle on and overtake it. On Monday evening, films were enjoyed by the residents. Perhaps there are some of our readers that would enjoy the fihns we have for approximately an hour every Monday evening, as well as the social time foll- owing. As I have mentioned many times, the residents would welcome visitors and friends. On Tuesday evening, the regular monthly birthday party was sponsored by the ladies of St. Boniface church, Zurich, taking St. Valentine's Day as their theme. The five little Miller girls of Dashwood, dressed in cream coloured skirts and red tops delighted the aud- ience with theie'singing. Their mother, Mrs. Joe Miller, acc- ompanied them on the piano. Euchre party Thirteen tables played euchre Monday night in the Hay Township Hall. Prize winners were; Lond hands, Mrs. Ferri Desjardine; ladies high, Mrs. H. Deichert; ladies low, Mrs. Henry Adkins; men's high, Hen- ry Atkins; men's low, Mrs. H. Klopp (playing as man). Special prizes were; lucky cup, Mrs. V. Dinnin; lady with most buttons, Mrs. Jean Bell; person coming most number of miles, Mrs. Dorothy Weston, Bayfield. Another euchre was announc- ed for Monday, February 17. Emmanuel United Church. Refreshments were enjoyed at the close of the prog. ram. On Friday evening bingo was played followed by coffee and cookies. The Sunday evening chapel service was conducted by Rev. Clayton Kuepfer of the Blake and Zurich Mennonite Churches, The residents were pleased to have so many visitors present in the chapel. Mrs. Ruth Ann Steckle presided at the organ during the service and accomp- anied Mr. and Mrs. Earl Oesch who sang two duets. TUNE IN!
