50th anniversary
Twenty-six members and
three visitors attended the
February meeting of Emrrianuel
United Church Women at 2 p.m
on Thursday, February 6.
Mrs. Allan Gascho led the
worship service, opening with
a poem, "How Great the Love
of God." The hymn "More
Love to Thee, " was sung.
The theme for the month
was Love. Very worthwhile
thoughts were presented by
Mrs. Leonard Merrier entitled
"The Art of -Life, " and "It's
the little things that count."
A piano instrumental, Div-
ine Comfort, and a medley of
hymns was played by Mrs.
Delbert Geiger.
The responsive scripture
on "The Vine and the branches"
as recorded in John, Chapter 15,
was read and Mrs. Gascho offer-
ed prayer.
The offering was received
by Mrs. Merrier and Mrs. Claus-
ius, followed by the hymn "My
Jesus I love Thee."
A filth, "Heritage for the
future" was shown commemorat-
ing the 50th anniversary of the
United Church of Canada. Rev.
Guy was in charge of the filen
and concluded by giving an
explanation of the symbols on
the crest of the United Church.
A 50th anniversary hymn writ-
ten by Rev. Clifford Park was
sung.
In the absence of the presid-
ent, Mrs. Ward Neeb, second
vice-president presided for the
business. It was decided to do
quilting the second Thursday in
March, and to have the March
meeting that day as well.
The Presbyterial is to be at
Listowel on February 26.
Mrs. Newell Geiger requested
that the day for visitation at
the Blue Water Rest Horne be
changed to the first Wednesday
of the month.
You'll never meet success—
get a hustle on and overtake it.
Adversity is a measure—it is
a scale for weighing friendship.

BLUE WATER REST HOME
More seasonal weather seems
to be prevailing at the present,
however, I believe the major-
ity of people are rather enjoy-
ing the cold, crisp days.
On Monday evening, films
were enjoyed by the residents.
Perhaps there are some of our
readers that would enjoy the
fihns we have for approximately
an hour every Monday evening,
as well as the social time foll-
owing. As I have mentioned
many times, the residents would
welcome visitors and friends.
On Tuesday evening, the
regular monthly birthday party
was sponsored by the ladies
of St. Boniface church, Zurich,
taking St. Valentine's Day
as their theme. The five little
Miller girls of Dashwood,
dressed in cream coloured skirts
and red tops delighted the aud-
ience with theie'singing. Their
mother, Mrs. Joe Miller, acc-
ompanied them on the piano.

Prayer and Bible Study.
For we must all appear before
the judgement seat of Christ,
That everyone may receive
the things done in His body,
according to that He hath done,
whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror
of the Lord, we persuade men.
