IN MEMOkrIAM
SMITH - In loving memory of
a dear husband, father and
grandfather, Melvin Smith,
who passed away one year ago
today, February 16, 1974.
Dear Husband, Father .and
Grandfather.
Since you've gone away
The ones you loves so true,
Try hard to carry on the way,
We know you'd want us to.
We cannot keep from wonder-
ing
No matter how we try, in our
sad and aching hearts.
The reason is hidden some-
where. In the pattern God has
ORM/ed.
We believe and Trust Him,
and someday we will understand,
- Lovingly remembered by his
wife, children and grandchild-
ren. - 6-p

Jottings by Jack
(continued from page 4)
atin for the safety of the child-
ren who travel to and from
school by schoolbus. I comm-
ended him on the particular
legislation that traffic be req-
uired to stop regardless of the
speed zone they are in, and
although this is just a very small
aspect of the overall bus safety
picture, statistics have shown
that the most hazardous part
of the journey a bus makes
is the bus stops. More children
are killed crossing the highway
to and from the stopped bus
than are killed as passengers
within the bus. I stated I reg-
retted the fact that this bill did
not include legislation covering
the selection and training of
schoolbus operators, an area
which leaves much to be desir-
ed.
