we played three others. They
were, Zurich 26, Precious
Blood 0; Zurich 10, Hensall 4;
and Zurich 14, Usborne 4.

O'Brien, Heather Riddell, Deryl
Rawlings, Elizabeth Datars,
Barbara Rader, Brenda Riddell,
Elaine Hendrick, Judy Gingerich
Maureen Erb, and Jane Willett.
Our coaches were Mr. Redd -
ick and Mrs. Oesch, We would
like to thank them for doing a
great job. All of us had a
really good time and we are
looking forward to the volley-
ball tournament coming up.

On Friday, January 24 the
boys basketball team of the
Zurich Public School went to a
tournament at the Exeter High
School. Our first game was not
as successful with Precious
Blood, 16, and Zurich 8.
Our second game was a tie
until Grant Love and Doug

making the score Zurich 10,

Our last game was tied also,
until Mt. Carmel made a bask-
et with 14 seconds left in the
game. The score was ended
Mt. Carmel 10, Zurich 8.
Losing this game put us out of
the play-offs. It was a very
close game. Our team memb-

•Jeff Forrester, Greg Kirk, Rick
Srnale, Tim Hamather, Roger

ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS
January is all but slipped
by. Several people have rem-
arked on how quickly the month
has gone. Perhaps because
the weatherman has been
reasonably kind to us thus far.
I suppose the next conversation
piece will be the Ground -hog's
shadow.
We are pleased to welcome
Mrs. Alda Simmons of Hensall
as a member of our big family.
On Monday evening, films
were shown, followed by ref-
reshments.
Mrs, E.R. Luther of Hensall
visited the residents on Tues-
day afternoon. They gathered
in the chapel where she presid-
ed at the organ and joined
them in group singing.
On Thursday evening, the
ladies of the Blake Mennonite
Church provided a program of
music and readings. Miss Mary
Lou Erb and Mrs. Grace Martin
played piano duets. Little Miss
Roxanne Martin, Masters
Dwayne, D'Arcy and Derek
Martin sang several numbers
and Dwayne Martin recited
some jokes. Following the prog-
ram, lunch and a social time
were enjoyed.
Bingo was played on Friday
evening followed by refresh-
ments.
The Word of Life Club, Cal-
vary Baptist Church, Goderich,
visited the Home on Saturday
evening and provided music
and discussions under the direct-
ion of Mr. Don Brubacher.
