ALOE WATER REST HOME

I suppose most of you, like
ourselves, are getting back to
normal routine of things after
the busy holiday season. The
calender says we are getting
well into the month, and so far,
January has brought us very
rnilk weather, so much so in
fact, that many birds have riot
felt it worth while to leave for
the winter.
We are very grateful for the
many treats brought in for the
residents during the holiday
season, especially to the organ-
izations such as Mr. Horner of
the Bayview Inn and his staff
for entertaining the residents
to a delicious Christmas dinner,
complete with entertainment,
Santa Claus and gifts for each
resident present, also to Mr.
Harry Hayter for providing
turkeys for the Christmas Day
dinner here, The Catholic
Women's League, Exeter Legion
The Crediton Men's League and
Mr. Alvin and Edwin Steckle
for the donations of fruit. We
also wish to thank the various
places of business for the beaut-
iful pointsettas and Christmas
arrangements sent to the Home
helping to give it a more festive
look.
We are grateful to the child-
ren and teachers of the differ-
ent schools in the area for prov-
iding Christmas programmes,
the carolers and everyone who
made Christmas and the Holi-
day season more meaningful
for the residents.
No doubt many of our read-
ers will be wondering who the
lucky winners of the draw were.
The quilt was won by Mrs. E.
Moscrys of St. Marys, and the
floor cushion went to Mrs.
Shirley Clarke, of Dashwood.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Wilfred Jarvis of Exeter Presby-
terian Church„
