Lutheran women open
meeting with carols
Mrs, Gordon Hess, Mrs.
Annie Finkbeiner, Mrs. Harold
Deichert and Mrs. Ray Fisher
conducted the Christmas meet-
ing for Lutheran Church
Women on Tuesday evening,
December 14.
Joy to the World was the
opening hymn, followed by the
lighting by the Advent Candles
by the committee members.
The origin of the Christmas
Candle was told and Mrs. Ernie
Miller, Dashwood, gave a
demonstration on the art of
candle making and decorating.
Twenty-nine L.C.W. mem-
bers, nine visitors and Rev.
Blackwell joined in singing
the old favourite Silent Night,
Moly Night in a candle ` light
ceremony.
Mrs. Harvey Hohner con-
ducted the business meeting.
The November committee re-
ported making 13 calls to sick
and shut-ins.
A queen size quilt was pre-
sented to Rev. and Mrs. Black -

The annual meeting was
conducted by Rev. Blackwell.
Mrs. Carl Willert read the
minutes of the last annual
meeting. President Mrs. Har-
vey Hohner gave a report on
the activities of the L.C.W. in
1976. Mrs. Hubert Schilbe and
Mrs. Gertrude Fleischauer re-
ported for the nominating com-
mittee.
The new slate of officers for
1977 as follows: president, Mrs.
Jack Turkheim; vice president,
Mrs. Harold Deichert; secre-
tary, Mrs. Carl Willert; treasur-
er, Mrs. Gordon Hess.
Delicious Christmas goodies
were served by the ladies in
charge of the December meet-
ing.

Pot luck supper
St. Boniface Council of the
C.W.L. held their annual pot
luck supper on December 14,
Thirty-two members and 58
children and guests attended.
After a bounteous feast, a
short business meeting was
held. A discussion on Christ-
mas baskets took place as high-
lights of the agenda for the
sick and shut-ins. The commit-
tee in charge then presented a
lovely program, which all en-
joyed, Then went their way
happily.
The C.W.L. members all
wish everyone a very Merry
Christmas and a happy and
holy New Year.
