We wish at this time on behalf of the Residents and staff to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and to thank all who have been so generous during the year in supplying special treats for the Residents, our wants for craft room work, the volunteers who assisted us for special events and those who visited the Residents and help- ed to keep them happy during' the year, also families of Residents for treats and potted plants during the Christmas season. On Monday evening Resid- dents enjoyed movies followed by refreshments. Mr. Lawrence Wein visited Tuesday morning with the Residents in the dining room and sang Christmas carols for an hour with them. The members of the Explor- ers Group from Exeter United Church accompanied by Rev. Glen Wright, Rev. Harold Snell and leaders of the group visited on Wednesday afternoon and sang carols while the Resid- ents ate their supper. After they had eaten their first course they were served delicious Merry Christmas one and all. Hope it's abundant in joy and peace. Thanks to all. McCann Const. Ltd. The Residents certain- ly enjoy these little events, and I think perhaps the child- ren do as well. We are pleased that Mr. George Hepburn and Mrs. Willa Brock have returned from the hospital in much improved health. The movie "Magnificient Obsession" was shown after- noon and evening at the Maple - woods Apartments last Thurs- day. Some of our Residents were able to attend. It is re- grettable that the weatherman doles out much miserable weather every Thursday which cuts the attendance for these very good movies. This corning Thursday afternoon there will be special Christmas films shown at 2:00 p.m. In the even- ing at 7:00 p.m. there will be a special musical recital given by the Wally Dirks family of Sag V Sei r.: Petersburg. I understand these children are very talented and are relatives of Mrs. Elizabeth Gingerich who resides in Maplewoods Apartments. We extend an invitation to the public to attend both of these programmes if weather per- mits. On Friday evening bingo was played followed by refresh- ments. On Saturday evening a group of children from the Lutheran Church accompanied by Mr. Howard Datars visited the Residents during the supper hour and sang carols. The Sunday evening chapel service was conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Luther of Hensall, Mr. Luther presided at the organ. Mrs. Luther, Master Glen Glade and Mrs. Britton rendered solos. Following the service treats were distributed the Residents.
