Miss Viola Lemmon, Toronto, Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Volland and family of Stratford visited with Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Volland this week. - The Bank of Montreal held their annual Christmas party at the Pineridge Chalet Saturday evening. Mrs. Doris Bonthron, Shelley and Janice of London were visitors this week with Mr. & Mrs. Bevan Bonthron and daughters. Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted the service at Carmel Presbyterian Church, Sunday, the address being "Its the Gift That Counts". The Sunday School and choir oaunder the direction of Mrs. Malcolm Dougall and teachers of the Sabbath School presented Christmas Pageant "The Old Old Story", The congregation took part in the Carol singing. The Annual Carol service was held at Cromarty Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m, followed by a Fellowship hour sponsored by the Couple's Club. The service next Sunday will be a service of Carols and Scriptures with a thought for this Holy Season. Rebekah lodge Noble Grand Mrs. Dorothy Parker presided for the meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge Wednesday evening assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs. Maggie Campbell, who gave a report of the visiting committee. During the business a donation was voted to the Children's Aid Society. Arrangeinents were made to hold the "Secret Pal" meeting on Wednesday January 5. Gifts :will be exchanged with your Secret Pal. Following the meeting the entertainment committee took charge of a Euchre Bingo followed by a lunch and social hour by the social committee. Noble Grand Mrs. Dorothy Parker expressed "thanks" to the entertainment and social groups Members of the Cancer, Polio and Tuberculosis committee of the I.O.O.F. and Amber Rebekah Lodges distributed plants to "shut-ins" Sunday December 19. The W.M.S. and Ladies Aid of Carmel Presbyterian Church packed boxes of treats for "shut- in members" on Tuesday December 14 which were distributed to the various homes. Mona Alderdice conducted the devotional us- ing Christmas hymns and ,,the Christmas story. Hilda Payne announced that Unit 2 is res- ponsible for the flowers in the Sancturay in January. Hilda Payne and Joyce Pepper gave a Little humorous skit on Test- ing—It's a rat race! Hilda read a Christmas poem, "Snow White Foal" and reread a letter from a missionary in Brazil, giving some of the background about Brazil first.
