Golden Glimpses .
BLUE WATER REST HOME
Everyone seems to be rested
up after the Resident's Family
Christmas party on Friday even-
ing. We had a full house, and
according to reports, everyone
enjoyed the party. Mr. and Mrs.
James Lawrie of Blyth were in
charge of the programme.
Many a voice joined in the old
familiar songs and the toes
couldn't resist tapping. We
were thankful that the weather-
man gave us a break so that
families and friends could come
from a distance for the occasion.
Monday evening is always
film night, which seems to be
an enjoyable time, and the
refreshments are an extra
drawing card.
We are wondering, if perhaps
as you are decorating for the
Christmas Season, if you might
have bits and pieces of Christ-
mas garland and other odds and
ends of decorations which you
do not expect to use again?
Sometimes these scraps are
just what the doctor ordered

What Child is this?
topic of meeting
• Zurich U.C.W. met on Mon-
' day afternoon for their Christ-
mas meeting with 35 members
and five visitors present. Mrs.
Newell Geiger opened the meet-
ing with a poem, "This is
Christmas". The Scripture
reading from Luke 2:1-16 was
read by Mrs. Nancy Koehler
followed by prayer by Mrs:
Harrison Schoch. Musical duets
by Mrs. Menno Steckle and
Miss Idella Gabel were en-
joyed.
The roll call was answered
by the captains of the "Penny"
contest, Mrs. Howard Fink-
beiner and Mrs. Glen Greb
collecting the cans.
Mrs. Menno Steckle chose as
her topic "What Child is
this?" in which she gave glimp-
ses of the life of Jesus from
His birth to His death as given
in many books of the Old
Testament. Much time and
thought in preparing her sub-
ject had been given by Mrs.
Steckle.
In the business period a
donation of $25.00 was given to
the John Milton Society for the
Blind with the request that it
be available to a member of
our group.
A card was signed to be sent
to one of our senior members,
Mrs. John Gascho celebrating a
birthday this week.
Several thank you notes were
read by Mrs. Newell Geiger,
corresponding secretary.
It was also suggested that the
visiting committee of each
month be responsible for taking
the taped sermons to the shut-
ins of the congregation.
Rev. Bruce Guy was present
and installed the following slate
of officers for 1977 as follows:
president, Mrs. Russell Grain-
ger; first vice-president, Mrs.
I)on Rawlings; second vice-
president, Mrs. Glen Greb;
treasurer, Mrs. Allan Gascho;
recording secretary, Mrs. Ward
Neel); corresponding secre-
tary. Mrs. Newell Geiger.
Following this, a delicious
Christmas lunch was enjoyed.
