Harold Dowson and Wilmer
Reid are home from hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Chessell
celebrated their 30th wedding
anniversary with a family din-
ner at the Stone Crock in St.
Jacobs.
Mr, and Mrs. Bruce Elliott
and Erin of Toronto were week-
end visitors with Mrs. Florence
Elliott and Walter and Norman
Smith.
Jim and Marilyn Laing and
baby of Mississauga visited her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
Keys on the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Keys of
Sarnia spent the weekend with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold Keys.
Mrs. Bessie Falconer, who
recently moved to Clinton, has
spent the past three weeks with
her daughter, Mrs. Jim Keys,
after being in hospital for six
weeks. Her sister, Mrs, Jean
Stoneman of Sombra visited
with them for a few days last
weekend.
A group of men who were
regular customers at Ida Mc-
Clinchey's coffee counter held
a reception at the White Carna-
tion to honour her and her
husband Ed Godkin on Friday
evening. There was an over-
flow crowd of friends and

sented with an inscribed watch
by Dr. C. Reeds, General

relatives. Don Taylor read the
address, and they were present-
ed with a lovely coffee pot and a
purse of money.
Recent visitors with Mr.
and Mrs, Murdock Morrison
and family were the latter's
brother Mr. Kenneth Rogers
and Mrs. Rogers, Miss Donna
Rogers and Mr. Brian Jones,
all of Wawa, Ontario.
Mrs. Geo. Reid spent two
weeks recently with her sister-
in-law, • Mrs. Verna Greenbury,
in Flint, Michigan.
Mrs. Robert C. Reid of Wat-
erdown and Mrs. Joanne Peuh-
kurinen of Mississauga, who
were attending the convention
for Exception Children at the
Holiday Inn in London, spent
Thursday and Friday nights
with Mrs. Geo. Reid.
Bob Roberts had a success-
ful hunting trip. He and Phillip
Madden of Brantford were
hunting near Burke's Falls, and
returned with a deer. Phil and
his wife Pat spent the weekend
with Bob and Gwynne.
Wilmer Reid , has been a
patient in Seaforth Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Reid
have bought a new home in
Bayfield and are moving this
week.
GOSHEN CHURCH
A "family Sunday" was
observed at Goshen Church,
with special music by members
of the choir, including numbers
by the very talented children.
A potluck dinner followed the
church service in the newly
decorated Sunday school room.
They have been enjoying the
use of new kitchen and wash-
room facilities. of which they
can rightly be proud.
U.C.W.
"Treasures" was the worship
theme for the November
U.C.W. meeting. It was based
on scripture from Matthew
6:19 to 34. Assisting Joyce
Dowson with the programme
were her daughters Brenda and
Bonnie, who sang two duets,
"Happiness Is" and "It's
Impossible". Joyce led us on
a "treasure hunt" for the many
things we enjoy in our daily
lives which can be looked upon
as treasures. Bonnie read a
poem "A Day Worthwhile"
and Brenda read a Remem-
brance Day poem, "I Found a
Friend".
Marjorie Stirling presided
for the business meeting. One
thousand dollars was voted to
the Board of Stewards, who

PUPILS REMEMBER—These grade 8 students at the Centennial school in Brucefield led the school •

have had a new furnace in-
stalled, and are having new
eavetroughs put on. Donations
were given to the John Milton
Society, and to the new Huron -
Perth Resource Centre, in Mit-
chell. It was decided to have a
Christmas concert, with the
Sunday School teachers in
charge of numbers from their
own classes.

follow a potluck supper at
6:00 on Wednesday, December
1, with former members in-
vited.
CLEANING BEE
Members of the U.C.W. had
a housecleaning bee at the
church a couple of weeks ago,
and since then have painted the
cupboards, walls and floors of
the Sunday School room and
kitchen.
LODGE
The Orange Lodge held a
dance at Hully Gully on Satur-
day evening with a good crowd
in attendance. The door prize
was won by Fred James of
Goderich.
