There were nine trailers in the park but they all came home disappointed as they didn't get any deer. The other residents of the area report the same unsuc- cessful trip although we did hear of some that were happier. Recent guests with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Barwick were Dr. and Mrs. H.A. MacDonald of Stratford, and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hardy of London. Mr. and Mrs. Russ Kerr visited Mrs. Kerr's sister, at Bright's Grove, for several days last week. Their daughter, June Humphreys brought them home on Sunday. It is nice to see Russ out and about after his recent illness. We are all pleased to hear that Miss Nancy Fawcett is recoverying nicely after her recent accident, although she is still confined to University Hospital, London. The Rev. Orlo Miller, Rector of St. Paul's Church, Point Edward, well known author and playright was a visitor at the Anglican Rectory this week. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Thomas Arkell and family in the death of her father, Mr. Frank Archer, who died in Toronto Friday. The funeral was held from the McCallum Funeral Home Monday with interment in Bayfield Ceme- tery. The L.A. of the Brownies, Cubs and Scouts invite all the ladies to a Tupperware Party and Bakesale at the St. An- drews United Church on Tues- day, November 16, at 8 p.m. The men of the St. Andrews United Church are conducting the complete . service at the Church next Sunday, Layman's Sunday. Everyone welcome. The many friends of Mr. Lloyd Huffman will be glad to hear that he is recuperating nicely after spinal surgery at Victoria Hospital last Friday. Agricultural Societies The annual meeting of Dis- trict No. 8 Ontario Agricultural Societies was held in Clinton Legion Hall recently at which time members of Bayfield Agricultural Society attended. Mr. Roy Jewell of the Farm Department of C.F.P.L. TV was the guest speaker and provided a very interesting and amusing talk. Members attending were Tom Penhale, Mrs. Jack Mern- er, Mrs. Don Haw, Mrs. Garth Postill, Mrs. Lloyd Makins, Mrs. H. Penhale and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Graham, secre- tary -treasurer, Mrs. Audrey Graham. Admission restricted to 16 years or Over. 4-H CLUB BAYFIELD lI The fourth meeting of Bay- field II 4-H Club was held November 1 at 4 p.m, at the home of Mrs. Joan Merner. We meeting was opened with the 4-11 Pledge. The roll call — "My recipe for using ready to eat cereal" had many answers —one being Peanut Butter Crispies. At this meeting plain muffins were made; charts were filled in; classified flour mixtures; and answered the discussion questions. The fifth meeting of Bayfield II 4-11 Club was held November 4 at .4 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Joan Merner. the meeting was opened with the 4-H pledge and roll call was three things that I learned about flour. At this meeting lasanga was made. The next meeting will be at Mrs. Joan Merner's on Novem- ber 9 at 4 p.m. CHURCH NEWS Saturday evening a very enjoyable Pot Luck Supper was held at St. Andrews United Church with 40-45 present. After a lovely supper the presidents, Carol and Tom Penhale conducted some fun games which everyone enjoyed. The guest speaker for the even- ing was Mr. Gordon Hill, who showed slides and gave a very interesting talk on his trip to China. BAYFIELD BAPTIST CHURCH The regular services were held in the Bayfield Baptist Church Sunday. As this was the Sunday set aside as "Remem- brance" Sunday in. Bayfield, the Pastor, Rev. Brian Harri- son used Remembrance as the theme for his sermon. The Communion Service was postponed until next Sunday due to the Remembrance Ser- vice at the Cenotaph at 12 o'clock. The United Church, Grand Bend, was the scene of a lovely autumn wedding on October 9th, 1976, when Nancy Rae McKin- non, only daughter of Ray McKinnon and the late Elizabeth Lowry of Zurich, was united in marriage with Carman Robert Lovie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carman Lovie of Grand Bend. The Rev. Harley Moore conducted the service. Matron of honour was Barbara Lassoline and bridesmaids were Carolyn Fleming and Sue Broderick, close friends of the bride. Shannon Lowry and Matthew Jarbeau, cousins of the bride were flower girl and ring bearer. The groom was ably assisted by Reid Burley as best man; Randy Lovie and Kimberly McKinnon actedas ushers. Beautiful music was rendered by Miss Adella Gable with Miss Elaine Westlake as soloist. Following a honeymoon at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the happy couple are now residing south of Grand Bend. W.M. Bennett. Wel- comed as the guest preacher was Mr. Howard Lansing, an active layman in this diocese for many years. Sunday afternoon the Sacra- ment of Holy Baptism at Trinity Anglican Church was conduct- ed. Baptized was Marion Clare Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Bennett of London. Grandparents are Rev: W.M. Bennett and Mrs. Bennett, Bayfield and Mr. and Mrs. Ed- ward Day, London. Following the Baptismal ser- vice the guests were invited to the Rectory. Friends and rela- tives present were from Lon- don, Toronto, Oakville, Brant- ford, Hamilton, Strathroy and Chesley. The Clergy of South Saugeen Deanery met in Bayfield last Tuesday. Holy Communion at 10 a.m, followed by a busi- ness session. Luncheon was served at the rectory by the Anglican Church Women. The Archdeacon of the Saugeen Venerable Robert Townshend of Owen Sound was a very wel- come visitor. The Remembrance Day par- ade service was held at St. Andrews United Church with Rev. Reddock in charge.
