Mrs. Jack Corbett is spending a week with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chaffe and sons and new baby daughter at Mitchell. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker returned home after spending a few days with Cpl. Doug Wein, Mrs. Wein and David in Whitby. Mr. & Mrs. Paul Munn have taken up residence at the apartment at 92 Brock Street. Fall Bazaar The ladies of Carmel Presbyterian Church held a most successful fall bazaar and bake sale on Saturday. The tables were laden with a good supply of home baking, produce and sewing. The Arnold Circle evening Auxiliary were in charge of the tea and refreshments. Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday delivering an inspiring message in keeping with "Remembrance" season. The choir under the direction of Mrs. Malcolm Dougall led in the service of song. isit rs e;F w s Visitors at the Queensway Nursing Home were Hazel McNaughton with her mother Mrs. Ada Smillie. Pearl Passmore and Sid Pullman visited Bernice Lavery. Mr. & Mrs. R. E. Pooley, Exeter visited several residents at Queensway. Mrs. Louise Mitchell was visited by Mrs. Edna Anderson, Exeter and Mr. & •Mrs. Denroache, Camp Borden, and Leslie Mit- chell, Crediton. Visitors with Pauline Jeffery were Edmund Jeffery, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Greenan, Blanche Bechard and Darlene Stumpf and Mr. & Mrs. Clemente Jeffrey. Lynn Latimer, Harold Glanville and Alex Barrett visited by Shirley Prouty. Roy McDonald was visited by Dorothy Prouty. Mr. & Mrs. Earl Sararas, Toronto visited Mrs. E. Sararas. Cecil & Betty Smith visited several ladies. Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Dilling and family, Sarnia visited Anna Dilling. Bill, Donna, Jimmy and Donald Perry visited Ernie Perry. Miss Greta Lammie visited Vera Lammie. Church service was conducted on Tuesday by Rev. W. D. Jarvis with Mrs. Mitchell at piano. Mrs. Toonk, Mrs. Timmermans and daughter Elaine, Mrs. Neevel, Mrs. Brand and Mrs. Wynja of Bethel Reformed Church Exeter entertained residents with bingo and music on Monday. Plan ice this week Hensall's arena has received permission from the Ministry of Labour to stay open until April 15, the end of the hockey season. Hensall has assured the Ministry that the building is being rein- forced, village councillors heard at their meeting Monday night. The arena will be monitored for snowload and the information posted in the arena lobby. Councillor Harold Knight said posts in the building's back wall are being reinforced with six inch steel beams. The trusses will be tied together and then supported on the back wall, he said. He said there is no estimate yet of the cost involved. Arena employees hope to have ice in by the middle of this week, he said. The next Hensall council meeting will be held on December 13, the week after the municipal election. Hensall legion places wreaths The Hensall Branch of the Canadian Legion marched to the Cenotaph on Sunday at 10 a.m, to place wreaths. Rev. Don Beck of the Hensall United Church r c- ficiated. The party marched to the Hensall United Church where Rev. Don Beck was in charge of the service. Following the service the members marched to the Legion hall for brunch and a social hour, A Remembrance Day dinner will be served in the Legion Hall on Friday November 12 at 7:30 p.m. when Robert McKinley M.P. will be the guest speaker. There will be an exchange of gifts at the Christmas meeting. Mrs. Iva Reid reported on the sports ac- tivities. Mrs. Mona Campbell won the mystery prize. Mrs. Beatrice Uyl won the attendance prize and Mrs. Wanda McClinchey won the guessing prize. The "Money Doll" draw will be held this year and tickets are available from members. The draw will be on December 14. Dorothy Parker, assisted by Mrs. Aldeen Volland Mrs. Ruby Bell R.S.N.G. reported for the Finance Com- mittee. Mrs. Isobel Rogerson presided at the piano in the ab- sence of Mrs. Evelyn MacBeath. The Charter will be draped in memory of the late Caroline Cutler past Assembly President. A donation was voted to the I.O.O.F. home at Barrie for the Christmas party. Mrs. Bertha MacGregor Jr. P. N. G. volun- teered to send items to the Tabloid.
