BY MRS. BILL CHESSELL
Mrs. Bob Roberts attended
a family reunion at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Anthony Martin of Brantford,
on Thanksgiving weekend. The
gathering was held in honour of
her great-aunt, Miss Minnie
Strange of England, who is in
Canada visiting relatives.
Thanksgiving visitors with
Mrs. Florence Elliott and Nor-
man and Walter Smith were
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Elliott of
Egmondville, Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Cudmore of Holmesville
and Frank Smith of St, Marys.
Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Hayter
were guests at the Campbell-
Chukil wedding, which took
place recently at Fonthill.
A good time was had 'by
many Varna area people at the
wedding reception for Allan
and Monica. Keys at Hully
Gully on Saturday evening.
On display in McAsh's store
window is the lovely Whit-
taker trophy, presented to 'the
winners of the girls' ball series.
Goshen church full
for anniversary
Dr. H.G. Lester, assistant
minister of Central United
Church in Stratford, was the
guest preacher at Goshen
Church Anniversary on Sunday.
In his sermon "Building the
Church", he said he does not
believe a person can be a
really good Christian if he stays
apart by himself. The early
Christians always grouped to-
gether, and he compared mem-
bers of the Christian Church to
living stones, fitting together to
make a strong foundation from
which they can reach out to
spread the gospel and help
others. He also pointed out
that our methods of farming,
etc. are often unsuited to other
countries, and we can help more
effectively by showing them
how to improve their own
methods.
Excellent music was provided
by members of the choir. A
quartette of young people,
Julia, Jill and Dean Armstrong
and Roger McKinley, sang
"Jesus and Me", with Julia
accompanying on her guitar,
along with Mrs. Bruce Keys on
the organ. A double trio, com-
prised of Elva and Kathie Peck,
Norene and Marjorie Hayter,
Linda Linfield and Evelyn
McKinley sang "Trusting Thee
More". The anthem was
"There's My Song".
Rev. Taylor announced that
tickets for the Anniversary Sup-
per on October 27 are nearly
all sold.
Fast loss
not healthy
If you're on a reducing diet,
how much weight should you
lose in a week? No more than
two pounds. A greater weight
loss isn't 'healthy and it doesn't
help you to change your eating
habits. You may want to lose
weight faster, but remember,
a loss of two pounds a week
gets rid of 8-10 pounds of fat
in a month. And don't forget
that when you are losing
weight, NUTRITION EVERY
WEEK IS IMPORTANT.

QUEEN OF THE ROSARY—The primary children at St. Boniface's school, Zurich, took advantage
of the beautiful fall season to combine lessons in religion and science. A Maple Leaf Rosary and a
crown decorated with coloured leaves were used in a ceremony of the crowning of Mary, Queen of
the Rosary. Crowning the statue are Beth Sweeney, Gr. 2 and Michael Beange, Gr. 1.
