Miss Sharon Riley, London, formerly of Hensall spent Friday with Mrs. Laird Mickle. Miss Linda Bell left. this week for University at Guelph where she is enrolled for the fall term. Miss Pamela Mickle who has been employed for the summer months' at Vancouver Hospital, B.('. returned to her home last week and will resume studies at Western University London this week. • Mrs. Betty Osbitch and daughter of London were recent visitors with the former's parents Mr. & Mrs. Doc Cameron. Miss Judy Mickle left this week for Waterloo University where she has enrolled for the fall term. Jarvis conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Rally Day will be held next Sunday. Sunday School will begin September 19. Miss Suzanne Rannie of Toronto spent the weekend at the home of her parents Mr. & Mrs. Sam Rannie. Mr. & Mrs. Don Rigby, Blenheim were weekend visitors with Mrs. Harry Snell. Mrs. Evelyn Fletcher, Exeter, was a recent visitor with Mrs. Bertha MacGregor. Mr. and Mrs. Arie Roobal left on Sunday from Toronto airport to return to Holland after spending four weeks visit- ing with the former's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal. A message was receiv- ed that they had a very rough ride home. They enjoyed their stay in Hensall immensely. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Oesch attended the wedding of their grandson Bill Bell and Nora Swann in Clinton on Friday evening. They also visited with their daughter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Earl Flaxbard of Zurich on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Skea and David and Glen Slade spent a pleasant weekend camping at Graigleith near Collingwood.. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hyde of Ottawa, Miss Margaret Hyde of London and Mr. and Mrs. Nor- man Hyde of Huron Park visit- ed with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hyde at the weekend. Holiday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schwalm, Mrs. Daisey Ivey and Mrs. Elizabeth Volland were Mr. and Mrs. Robert French and Roy of Ros- seau; Mr. and Mrs. Al Amer- linck of Sarnia; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Taylor of Varna; Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Johnston and John of Brucefield and Mr. Alec Mousseau of Ipperwash. Hen- sall visitors that dropped in were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Miller, Mrs. Donna Allan and grandson, Derek and Brian Robinson, Cody Brown, Mrs. Bona Clark, Mrs. Irene Fin- layson, Mrs. Winnie Skea and David and Glen Slade. Rebekah Lodge Noble Grand Mrs. Bertha MacGregor presided for the reopening of the Amber Rebekah Ledge for the ensuing term, Citizens News, Selo ember 8, 1976 -Page 3 assisted by Mrs, Hazel Corbett, H.S.V,C, in the absence of the Vice Grand Mrs. Dorothy Parker. Mrs. Margaret Consitt, Jr. P.N.G. gave a detailed report of the district meeting held at Pride of Iluron Lodge, Exeter in June. 'Thank you" notes were received from Mrs. Ruby Bell and Mrs. Beatrice Richardson, The recording secretary Mrs. Leona Parke read the report submitted by the D.D.P. Mrs. Irene Harnack, Goderich on her year's activities. The visiting report was given by the Noble Grand. „ Mrs. Aldeen Volland, representative, and Mrs, Margaret Consitt, scholar who attended the Rebekah Assembly Sessions in Toronto in June presented interesting reports on meetings, ' "Birthday greetings" were extended to. Annie Reid, Evelyn MacBeath and Olga Chipchase. Following the meeting a delicious "Pot Luck" Luncheon was en- joyed in the lower hall, United Church Morning service at the United Church was conducted by Rev. Don Beck with Mrs. John Turk- heim assisting at the organ. Guest soloist was Miss Elaine Westlake, who sang very sin- cerely, "0 Lord most Holy", The sermon, on the subject, "Not Christian Enough" guid- ed our thoughts to our own com- mitment to the Christian life. Unit 4 will meet at 12 on Thurs- day for a pot luck dinner, and Unit 2 on Monday, September 13 at 8:30 p.m. Livestock Sales Supply consisted mainly of heifers and steers; demand was active and prices were steady. Fat cattle; heifers $38.50- $40.00, sales to $41.00. Steers $40.25-$42.75, sales to $43,- 50. Pigs; weanlings $35.00- $45.00, chunks $47.25-$52.00. Shower Bride -elect Mrs. Wayne McBride and Julie were hostesses at their home on Wednesday in honor of Miss Cindy Parker bride -elect of this month. The rooms were tastefully decorated for the oc- casion. Games and contests were enjoyed by all after which the guest of honor was presented with many miscellaneous gifts.
