Western fair fe tures
good old country music
Fairgoers can anticipate a pro-
gram ranging fromgood old-
fashioned "down-home" comedy
to serious country music when the
"Hee-Haw" gang takes over the
spotlight.. at the Western Fair
grandstand on Friday, September
17.
The entertainment package
features Gordie Tapp, Roni
Stoneman, the Hagers and Barbi
Benton in a fun -filled show that
promises ample helpings of tal-
ent, personality and humor.
Gordie Tapp has established
a successful career in many
aspects of the show -business
world. One of Canada's most
versatile entertainers, Gordie
has a knack for adapting his
presentation to any type of audi-
ence with material that ranges
from the country buffoonery of
Hee-Haw to more sophisticated
offerings.
Roni Stoneman, Hee-Haw's
charming banjo -strumming sing-
er and comedienne, has appear-
ed in every state and Canada,
as well as on many network
television shows. She is an estab-
lished song -writer and recording
artist with dozens of releases to
her credit.
The Halters are twin brothers
whose regular appearance on
Hee-Haw makes them no strang-
er to local audiences. Their easy -
listening vocal arrangements
of country songs and ballads
Enjoy trip to Manitoba

In Maintoba they toured the
museum ' at Winnipeg to see
"Man and Nature" and the
Legislative Buildings.
They all agreed that although
the trip was lovely, Ontario still
looks the best.
Trevor Boyle and Steven Rid-
dell were at the United Church
Camp Menesetung last week.
Wm. Boyle, Bramalea, is spen-
ding some time with Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Boyle and boys.

Zurich, has moved to the River-
side Nursing Horne, Mitchell.
On behalf of the neighbours,
Ray Hartman, Don Rader and
Scott visited him Sunday and
presented him with a watch as
a remembrance gift. A beautiful'
floral bouquet was also sent from
Scottie and Mae Fox.
Susan and Peter Stormes,
St. Thomas, are visiting with
their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

visited Lake Louise and Banff
National Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Martine
and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Mc-
Knight, Deanne and Robbie,
have returned home following a
three week trip to the Rocky
Mountains, going out through
the States and returning home
by way of Canada.
