with musical comedy
"You're a Good Man Charlie
Brown" by Clark Gcsner is the
opening performance of the
Huron County Playhouse this
season. The first production
runs from June 30 to July 3 with
Wednesday and Saturday matin-
ees at 2 p.m., evening per-
formances every night at 8:30
p.m,
Frank Canino directs the musi-
cal with Barbara Young musical
director and actors David Dunbar,
Alicia Jeffery, Robert Landar,
James Saar, Ed Taylor and
Janet Thorpe.
This musical is based on a day
with Lucy, Charlie Brown, Snoopy
and the whole peanuts gang
including favourite situations of
all Peanuts fans. Lucy pours out
her heart to Schroeder, Linus
dances with his ever-present
blanket and Snoopy has a running
battle with the Red Baron. The
dialogue is funny, the songs
are breezy and the characters
are the essence of childhood.
The show is suitable for children
but was created for adults.
Seasons tickets to the Play-
house are still on sale but this
is the last week they will be
available. For $30.00 you are
entitled to eight admissions
which may be used in any com-
bination you choose. Terasa
Castonguay, in charge of public
relations for the playhouse, says
they have sold at least 10 to
15% more season's tickets this
year than last.
Private donations have also
been very good this year, the
largest totaling $10,000.
HAVE A DRINK CHARLIE BROWN—Lucy, Alicia Jeffery, decides
Charlie Brown, David Dunbar, might not be such a bad sort after
all as she offers him a glass of milk. The opening production of the
Huron Country Playhouse this season is "You're a Good Man
Charlie Brown" based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles
Schultz. Photo by McKinley
