ARC trainees tour plant
A.R.C. Industries
Dashwood, Ontario
Dear Mrs. O'Brien:
We at A.R.C. Industries liked
our tour of the newspaper.
I like to see the man make the
pictures in the dark room. I
liked the way they typed the
ads in the newspaper. Sonie is
Targe print and some is small
print. I liked to see the print
they develop in the dark room.
Yours truly,
Karen Whitmore

TOUR TO THE ZURICH
NEWSPAPER
(By Colleen Carter)
The education program and
office program went for a tour
of the Zurich Citizen's News,
which is the Zurich newspaper.
We left at 10:15 and got back to
ARC around 12:00 noon. We saw
how the girls type on these large
typewriters the information that
goes into the paper. We then
saw how they develop the pic-
tures
iatures and articles, We all had
a chance to go into the dark room
with the developer. After the
pictures and articles are develop-
ed, they are hung to dry just like
On a clothes -line. When they dry
another lady cuts the paper and
placesit on sheets of paper that
are waxed first so the things will
stick to it. Then the young guy
develops a picture of the paper.
The paper is sent up to Goderich
to be printed. We saw how the
advertising was done on the
waxed paper. We enjoyed our-
selves very much. We also had
our picture taken for the Zurich
Citizens's News and Paul Forler
is sending in an article for the
paper.

This is what Ontario is doing
to make sure they're safe fun.
Regulations governing the use of mopeds are fairly new to
Ontario. But they are necessary because, with 30.000 mopeds
on the road this year and a tragic record of 9 moped -riders killed
in Ontario traffic last year, mopeds definitely must be --and are
— — considered as vehicles under The Highway Traffic Act.
The rules and regulations are simple:
• Mopeds must not weigh over 120 pounds
• They must have operable pedals at all times
• Theft speed must not exceed 30 miles per hour in one mile
from a standing start
• They are prohibited from travelling on expressways
• Drivers must be 16 or older arld have a valid Ontario driv,'
license or temporary instruction permit
• License plates are required, and cost $5.00
• Mopeds must be insured for public liability ar:d property
damage
• Helmets — -- while not yet required — — are recommended
