The clerk, Gordon Graham, was instructed to write a letter of thanks from the council to the Mayor of Clinton and Clinton Town Council for presenting the Village with a painting do:;e by Mr. Thomas in 1949 of S.S. #8, Stanley (Bayfield Public School)• (torn down in 1955). Mr. Thomas was an airman, stationed at R.C.A.F. Station, Clinton, who did many paintings of the area. A letter of thanks is also to be sent to the Bridge and Euchre Clubs who sponsored a Centenni- al Card Party and donated almost $70.00 towards the Town Hall fund. A very fine effort. A reguest for a map of the village from York University was acknowledged, and a let -ter from the Ministry of Housing dealing with the availability of loans for the physically handicapped to build such necessities as ramps, etc. was of great interest and it was decided to fly the flags from the three flag poles for the Cen- tennial and during the summer. In other business, drainage, , equalized assessment factor, a municipal fire protection sur- vey,, street lights, new model noise control by-law and the advanced registration for the Centennial for Saturday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. were all given equal consideration. The next meeting will be Mon- day night, July 5 if we aren't trampled under by the Centennial celebrations. ... M vowi`%i BOOKKEEP I. esoa w:,,%1.4 ▪ u ;• Hensall personals Mr. Elmer Campbell of Toronto visited this weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Percy Campbell.
