Four confirmed at
Sf.Peters Lutheran
Four young persons completed
their two years of confirmation
instruction at St. Peter's Lutheran
Church on June 6th and made
their promises to be "diligent
in the means of grace and of
prayer". The confirmands are
Catherine Deichert, Leroy Fields,
Sandra Weiberg and David
Kalbfleisch.
The following Sunday, a
luncheon was held in the base-
ment rooms for the newly con-
firmed and for members who had
been received during the past
twelve months. Mr. Victor
Dinin gave the address emphasiz-
ing that a person is remembered
for what he gives to life rather
than for what he accumulates
during his life. He made use of
several convincing examples and
illustrations.
At the worship service pre-
ceding the social reception the
junior choir of the Huron Centen-
nial School presented the special
music accompanied by Mrs. Carol
LeBeau at the piano.
Mr. Ken Baker was chairman
at the reception and welcomed
the visiting choir and the new
members and newly confirmed
members. Entertainment was
provided by Timmy Westlake
on the violin and by Mrs. Ray
Fisher who gave a reading.
Mrs. Claire Deichert spoke on
behalf of the Lutheran Church
Women welcoming the new
lady members to the congregation
and expressing the hope they
would become members of the
auxiliary.
