No doubt the rain on the roof
was .a welcome sound to a good
many over the weekend, es-
pecially for those with gardens
and farm crops as well as for a lot
of us who are cngulphed in dust
because of construction under --
way.
We regret that Mrs. Alice
Phillips is a patient in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter. Good
use is being made of the varcity
of materials received from one
and another for the craft room.
Mrs. Rose Butler is a new
confer to the Home, and we
welcome her.
On Friday afternoon a 'number
of Residents enjoyed a bus tour
along the lake, over to Clinton
and back home.
I note from the register that a
number of fathers were out
celebrating Father's Day with
their families on Sunday.
This week has been designated
as Senior Citizen's Week. One
of the programmes planned to
mark this occasion will be slides
of Switzerland and Northern
Ontario to be shown -in the dining
room at 7:30 p.n1. by Mr. Risi
on Thursday evening. We parti-
cularly invite any Senior Citizens
of the community to conte and
enjoy these slides.

With the official plan of the
county and all Mr. Egerton's
objections were satisfactorily
answered. The board felt the
weight of the written evidence
of the ministry was diminished
as no representative of the
ministry attended the meeting
to expand on these objections.
The application was therefore
approved.

Mr, and Mrs. William Ziler,
formerly of Dashwood and Mr.

woods Apartments on the week
end and we welcome them to
this cominfinity .
On Sunday evening the chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Harold Snell of Exeter United
Church. Mr. Cameron presided
at the organ during the service.

Buffalofest again a success

as had been originally planned.
However, the children's races
and relays on Sunday afternoon
were a big success. The children
enjoyed themselves while com-
peting in sack races, spoon and
egg relays, tug of wars and good
old foot races. Bottles of pop
were the most numerous prizes,
but some cash prizes were also
awarded.
The flea market and craft
shows did not fair too well as
they were rained out on Satur-
day. However, Sunday was a
busy day as the sunshine drew
the crowds onto the main street.
Mr. Nelder estimated between
7,000 buffalo burgers and 1;000

More security and better control
at the gates is a must as the
tent on Saturday evening was
extremely crowded. Mr. Nelder
also says more washroom facili-
ties will be planned with more
located inside the complex itself.
Pat Ryan of London won the
$100 Olympic gold coin in the
free draw held at 11 p.m. Satur-
day night.
Zurich personals
Mr. and Mrs. William O'Brien,
Jim and Jennifer were weekend
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Don
O'Brien and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Allan
and boys, of London, were
Sunday visitors with Mr, and
Mrs. Bob Kirk in Zurich.
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy O'Brien
spent the weekend with friends
in Toronto.
Mrs. Winnifred Schroeder, of
Wiarton, Mr. and Mrs. Len
Fisher, of ilderton, were dinner
visitors last Wednesday with
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Oesch.
The Sunday School pupils
of the United Church, in Zurich,
entertained the congregation on
Father's Day with several musical
numbers.
