The Dashwood Tigers scored
two decisive victories this week
in the Huron -Perth intermediate
baseball league.
Tuesday night in Zurich,
the Tigers lambasted the Zurich
Mets 20-3 in a six inning g.ame
and Friday night on their home

field they downed the ,Clinton
Colts by a score of 10-2.
The Tigers will play , host to
Hanover Friday night at 8 p.m.
at the Dashwood athletic field
and Sunday afternoon they will
travel to Chesley. Wednesday
June 23, the Dashwood club
will be in Clinton for a return
engagement with the Colts.
In Dashwood, Friday, south-
paw Jim Guenther had little
trouble in subduing the Clinton
Colts as he held the visitors.
Crediton bantams post wins
over Wingham, Clinton
The Crediton bantams scored
tw) victories this week in the
Western Ontario Athletic As-
sociation, Their season record
a single defeat.
Wednesday, the Crediton
youngsters downed Wingham
11-6 and Friday- night they were
on the long end of an 18-8 score
over Clinton.
In Friday's win over Clinton,
the Crediton team didn't wait
long to show they were serious
winning with 14 runs in the first
inning.
Brian Mercer wielded the big
bat with two home runs in the
first inning. In each instance
two mates were on. the bases
and his runs batted in total
quickly reached five.
Andy Nedza delivered a double
and single in the first frame and
Dave Atthill contributed a pair
of singles. Also getting hits in
the first inning were Dave Bogart
and Dan Bell..
Toni Dinney scored a lone
Crediton marker in the second
and he homered to account for
two more runs in the fifth, Dan
Bell was sate on an error in the
Crediton sixth and came around
to score without the aid of a hit.
Toni Dinney waa the Crediton
pitcher and recorded 11 strike-
outs over the seven inning route.
He came through with three
tannings in the third when
Clinton scored twice and were
seriously threatening.
Andy Nedza was the winning
Crediton hurler in Wednesday's
11-6 triumph over Wingham.
He equalled Dinncy's mark of
11 strikeouts.
Brian Mercer's triple sent
Joe Becker and Don Beaver
home with the first two Crediton
runs in the first inning.

Mike Schroeder was hit by a
pitch and scored on a single
by Andy Nedza in the Crediton
second.
In the third Dan Bell singled
and was able to score 00 an error
after stealing second and third
bases. Joe Becker tripled and
scored the fifth Crediton counter
in the bottom of the fourth.
Three Crediton runs in the
fifth inning were powered by
singles from the bats of Steve
Pearce. Ralph Wells and Dave
Atthill.
Pearce and Wells again col-
lected hits in the sixth to send
the final two Crediton runners
across the plate.
to only two runs and seven hits
while recording nine strikeouts.
Guenther aided his own cause
with two hits. One was a homer
with the bases empty in the third
inning.
The Tigers jumped on Clinton
starter Stu Mustard for four runs
in the second inning. A walk,
a couple of errors and singles
from the bats of Glenn Thurman
and Jim Dietrich sent the first
four Tiger runs across the plate.
In the third the Dashwood lead
went to 6-0 when Jim Guenther
and Glenn Thurman slammed
balls over the right field fence
with no one on the bases.
Clinton's first run came in.the
fourth when Don Bartliff singled
and scored on singles by Cam
MacDonald and Fremlin.
In the Dashwood fourth, Jim
Dietrich. doubled, moved up on
a fielder's choice and home on
.lohn Hat'ter's sacrifice.
Haytcr scored in the sixth
on a single by Jim Guenther
after reaching base on it fielder's
choice.
A double by Dave Parsons
sent Gary Hartman and Bob
Hoffman home with the final
two Tiger markers in the seventh.
Hartman singled and Hoffmmn
walked.
The second and last Clinton
run was scored in the ninth
frame by Fremlin.
Dave Parsons led the 12 hit
Dashwood attack with a double
and two singles.
DALTON LEADS AT BAT
A newcomer to the Dashwood
club, Dan Dalton banged out
two doubles to lead the 11 hit
attack in Tuesday's win over
the Zurich Mets.
Ron Dickey contributed a pair
of singles and Jim Hoffman
cracked a home run with two
mates on the bases.
Dave Parsons and Brad Gregus
each picked up a double and
singles were contributed by
Gary Gibson, Joe Arnold, John
Hayter and Jim Dietrich.
Perry Stover was the Dashwood
hurler. He held the Mets to
only four hits while recording
four strikeouts.
The Zurich hits went to Gerald
Weido, Gerard Charrette, Kim
McKinnon and Pat Bedard.
Zurich manager Percy Bedard
used four pitchers in an attempt
to slow down the Dashwood
hatters. They were Ken Smale,
Dick Bedard, Pat Bedard and
Doug ,Jeffrey.
