W.E. McDougall
Secretary/Registrar
Ontario Telephone Service
Commission
ed by President Ross Merrill of
the Bayfield Club and Mrs.
Beatrice Geiger, the Zurich
Club's pianist led the group in
singing before dinner.
Bayfield is busy preparing for
their Centennial and as usual the
Lions are greatly involved. Plans
are being made for a "Paint In"
at the Arena plus a lot of other
activities for the big occasion.
Deputy Governor Elect Jack
Merner reported on the Quebec
Convention that he, Claude Gel-
inas and Richard Erb, along with
their wives attended the weekend
of May 28.
President Claude Gelinas of
the Zurich Club spoke briefly.
He remarked that being it was
the last meeting of the year
1975/1976, it was fitting that
the meeting should be held in
Bayfield as it would be the Last
meeting the two clubs would
share as members of the same
district because due to the great
increase in the number of clubs
in the area, it was necessary to
form a new district to which
Zurich will belong. He thanked
all members for their cooperation
during his year as president and
he paid tribute to Mrs. Geiger
for her service to the club as
pianist.
That meeting was more or
less was the end of an Era so
to speak, because the Zurich
Club sponsored Bayfield when
that Club was chartered and
there has been close ties between
the two clubs since.
But as president Ross Merrill I
stated, "We can not stop pro-
gress and in Lionism there are
no Boundaries."
