interesting Cuban study
On June 10, Unit 1 held their
regular meeting with Will Back
presiding. Her devotional theme
for meditation was "Happy are
the meek." Several members
read the following scriptures.
Cor. 14 vi, 1 Cor 13.v4, Micah
6.v8, Luke 14.v11,1 Cor 4 v7,
Matt 5 vv3-5. Some thoughts
were "Love is here to stay, love
is a immediate central fact in the
lives of each one of us, love has
depth, patience and constancy.
The humility to which love brings
us is simply a profound recogni-
tion of our independence upon a
higher power. This humility is
not weakness, but an acceptance
of our realistic need for others
and for God who made and
loved us all. Only as we acknow-
ledge our humility can we ap-
proach greatness, happiness and
confidence in the future."
Helen Scane gave a very in-
teresting study on Cuba. The
education goal of this country
is a constant transformation
system. Their health care was
previously run by the rich, but
now is the basic responsibility
of the State. Their religion is of
less importance. They do not
have to work, because health
care etc, are free, but they work
as a sense of honour.
