Mr, and Mrs. Bill Baker, London, spent Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Adolph Keller. The 26th Becker reunion was held June 6 at Dashwood Com- munity Centre with John Becker presiding, Seventy-one descend- ants of the late John and Mar- garet Becker attended. The 24 families represented came from London, Kitchener, Egmondville, Grand Bend, Zurich, Seaforth and Dashwood. Exeter, 4-H girds guests at Institute meet The June meeting of Dashwood Wi was held Tuesday June 1 with the Family and. Consumer affairs group in charge and Mrs. Gordon Bender convener. The 4-H girls and mothers were guests and had on display their books and work done for their club on "stitchery. Club 1 presented a skit The Little House on the Prairies." Club 2 and 3 had a display "International Flavour in Jmbroioery min commentators. The Institute presented gifts to Cindy Beaver, Elaine Hen- drick, Caroline Rasenberg and Sandra Kraft for getting County Honors and to Wendy Beaver for Provincial Honors. The leaders also received token gifts. There were 22 girls present and 13 Institute members. Roll call do you wear seat belts? was answered in the affirmative. Mrs. Irvin Rader discussed the motto, "The 3 is in home training, respect, revcrancc, responsibility." Mrs. Syd Baker followed with a prayer for parents and children. Pat Bender played several selections on the aco- cordion accompanied by Kim Gaiscr on the piano. Mrs. Ray Rader dealt with the business. Mrs. Valentine Becker gave an excellent report on the Conference held in May at Waterloo university. Mrs. Gordon Bender gave a report of the District Annual held at Crediton. The Fair articles were dis- cussed. Bridal showers Miss Debbie Riddell, bride - elect of June has been honored at several showers. The staff of the Bank of Nova Scotia held a surprise shower with Camilla Robichaud, Huron Park, hostess. Mrs. Lois Ford, aunt of Debbie's held a shower at her London home for relatives on her mo- ther's side (Bryan). Mrs. Betty Riddell held a shower at her home for members of the Riddell family and her neighbors. Judy Miller was hostess for a surprise shower at Dashwood community centre for members of the groom' family, the Mil- lers. Susan Rader, London, was hostess for a surprise shower at the home of her mother, Mrs. Tony VanWyck, Exeter for friends of the bride and groom. Willie Visscher, neighbor of the Jack Riddell family held a shower at her hone for friends and rcin- tl\ es. Debbie was recipient of many lovely gifts for \\•hick she thanked everyone and invited them to attend her trousseau tea Satur- day. June 12 and the wedding reception June 19 at the Pine - ridge Chalet Hensall. Local delegate to attend convention Two members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod board of directors, ,Synod's administrative officer, the president of the South Wisconsin District and the president of C.\ncordia Seminary, Springfield 111., will attend the 1976 convention of the Ontario District to be held at Wilfred Laurier University, \Waterloo, June 10-13, Rev. Allis Stanfel, president reports. Dr. Walter A. Maier, a vicc- president of Synod will be the synodical representative. Dr. Karl Barth, president of the South Wisconsin District,• will be the convention essayist.. Edward Scott. a member of LC ---MS board of directors and John Schuclkc, adnrinist•ati\e officer will attend as observers to obtain first hand information concerning the district for the purpose of est ah1ishng a closer liaison between Synod and the various Districts. Mr. Scott and his \vire. Denver Colorado, radio station (KiAK) owners. recently gave atwo- thirds or their ownership in the radio station to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. The stock is valued at about $1.3 million. It is the largest personal gift ever made to Synod through the LC—MS Foundation. Ron Merisel- is the delegate attending from Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood.
