The metric system of measurement was not used. Mr. Redick, who was in charge of the field day, explained that the public school is not using metric because the high schools are still on the British system. On Thursday the winners of the local public schools will use the South Huron facilities for another meet, Since the track at South Huron is pleasured out for British measurement, not metric, . that meet will likely be done with the British, not metric, measure- ments. Results of the Junior Boys are: high jump -Kevin Lavery, Peter Miller; running long jump - Tim Rawlings, Robert DeMooy; standing long jump -Peter Miller; Matthew Erb; ball throw -Richard Kuepfer, Matthew Erb; 75 yard dash -Tim Rawlings, Greg O'Bri- en; 220 yard race -Tim Rawlings, Matthew Erb. In the Junior Girls' events, winners are: high jump -Nancy Thornton, Allyson Shephard; running long jump -Nancy Thorn- ton, Joanne McKinley; standing long jump -Nancy Thornton, Ally- son Shephard; ball throw -Jody Hay, Sonya Kuepfer; 75 yard dash -Nancy Thornton, Jody Hay; 220 yard race -Jody Hay, Nancy Thornton. Winners in Intermediate boys are: high jump -Mark Kirk, Gordon Love; running long jump - Bill Livingston, Paul Lavery; triple jump -Jim Wiilert, John McAllister; ball throw -Bob Oesch, Mark Kirk; 100 yard dash -Steven O'Rourke, Bill Liv- ingston; 440 yard race -Jim Smith, James Adkins. Winners of the intermediate girls are: high jump -Brenda Riddell, Connie Neeb; running long jump -Brenda Riddell, Ange- la Zehr; standing long jump - Brenda Riddell, Connie Need; ball throw -Brenda Riddell, Ange- la Zehr; 100 yard dash -Connie Neeb, Brenda Riddell; 440 yard race -Connie Neeb, Vicky Schroe- der. In the senior boys class, win- ners are: high jump -Jeff For- rester, Bob Livingston; running long jump -Greg Lavery, Jeff Forrester; triple jump -Greg Kirk, Jeff Forrester; shotput-Jeff For- rester, Greg Lavery; 100 yard dash -Jeff Forrester, Bob Living- ston; 440 yard race -Jeff Forrest- er, Bob Livingston. Ev Earl gave a splendid report on the Annual meeting held in London at St. Pauls Cath- edral which she and Jeanne Bennett attended. The guest speaker was Dr. Jean Dewart, Professor of Theology at the University of Toronto. Her theme being, "For Freedom Christ has made us Free." Lillian Higgins was acting secretary for the meeting. Trea- surer, Cecilia Ager gave her report which was adopted. Prayer partner, Sister Dorothy Dykes wrote a lovely thank you note for funds sent to her. A social hour followed with delicious refreshments served by Olive Rivers. One more Centennial event took place in the Municipal Building at Bayfield on Wednes- day afternoon, June 2; when the Afternoon Bridge Club sponsored a fairly' well attended Dessert Bridge and Euchre Party. The profits go to the Town Hall Restoration Fund. Great enthusi- asm was shown in the many gorgeous desserts planned by the Bridge Club and assisted by the Euchre Club. The floral arrange- ments by Jeanne Lindsay were outstanding. Prizes were as follows: -Door prize, Margaret Dawson, Varna; Euchre, ladies high, Annie Finkbeiner, Zurich; low, Dorothy Cox, Bayfield; lone hands, Annie Finkbeiner, Zurich. Bridge prizes, high, Olive Rivers; low lady, Eveline Earl; high nen, Gordon Graham; low men, Dick Tuttle.
