enjoy trip to
A number of people from this
area went on the charter bus
trip last Tuesday to Niagara
Falls and Marineland, which
was sponsored by the Grand
Bend Women's Institute.
Points of interest were a stop
at Stoney Creek, a tour of the
Niagara area, the Niagara
greenhouse and Brock's monu-
ment. The group stopped in
Brantford on the way home for
a steak dinner at the Ponderosa
restaurant.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Morenz
Glenda and Tammy visited
Monday in Kitchener with Mrs.
Morenz father, William Cook
who is a patient in St. Marys
Hospital.
Wendy Van Bruaene, bride -
elect of June 26, has been honor-
ed at two miscellaneous showers.
Mrs. Jerry Van Bruaene was
hostess, Tuesday evening at
the Legion hall, when about
50 friends and neighbours
gathered.
Julie Luther, with co -hostess,
Cathy Fuller, held a shower
Wednesday evening for about
25 teenage friends, at Mrs.
Lorne Luther's home.
Mrs. Max Turnbull was
released Saturday from South
Huron hospital and is spending
some time with her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Lamport of Crediton.
Soloist for the Sunday morning
service at Grand Bend United
Church, was Mrs. Ralph Mc-
Kinnon, when she sang the
"Lord's Prayer" by Malotte.
Rev. Harley Moore's sermon
topic was "God's will and unans-
wered prayer."
Dave Bowyer, a summer
student, and his wife will be
living at Ipperwash, and assis-
ting Rev. A. W. Bell, for the
summer at the parishes of
Greenway, Thedford, Port Franks
and Grand Bend.
Heather Marie and John
Warren,. children of Mr. and
Mrs. Donald Glen of Ottawa,
were baptized by Rev. H. Moore
last week at Grand Bend United
Church.
Mrs. Lawrence Johnson has
been visiting with her daughter
and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs.
Don McArthur and Kevin of Port.

Following the morning service
at the United Church a con-
gregational meeting was called
by the trustees of the Grand Bend
.United Church Cemetery Board
for a decision on the three propo-
sals pertaining to the cemetery
with the bequest of $4,000.00
from the estate of the late Peter
Eisenback. The number one
proposal to build a mausoleum
and Chapel was carried by a
majority vote.
Recent visitors with Mr.and
Mrs. Colin Love were Mr. and
Mrs. Morley Love and Jennifer
of Chatham, Mr. and Mrs. Brian
Love, of Ottawa, and the latter's
mother Mrs. Mae Laing of River-
view New Brunswick.
Mrs. Alec Hamilton attended
the Lambton County Historical
meeting at Petrolia, Thursday
evening.
Mrs. Max Turnbull is a patient
in South Huron Hospital having
suffered a heart attack last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Colin Love
attended the wedding of their
grandson, Daniel Love, son of
Mr.and Mrs. Glenn Love, Sarnia,
to Katharine Thompson, daugh-
ter of Mr. and. Mrs. George
Thompson, Saturday, at High -
park United Church, Sarnia with
the reception at Moose Lodge.
Rev. Pickell was minister offi-
ciating. Others attending from
area were Mr. and Mrs. Gerry
Love and Mr. and Mrs. Jini
Love.
Mr. and Mrs. George Bucking-
ham of Toronto, spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Flear.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bevan,
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Dryden, all
of Hamilton visited recently
at Huron Vista, with Mr. and
Mrs. Clarke Kennedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Odbert
have returned to Grand Bend
after spending the winter in
Tuscon Arizona.

of Hensall.
