Church is packed
fj' ii Iversary
A packed church greeted
the Rev.. Wilbur Rogers when he
returned to Hensall United
Church after an absence of over
20 years to preach to the
Anniversary Services on Sunday.
Taking as his, subject, "What
are we doing with the future
NOW?" he told us that we have
to face tomorrow the conse-
quences of what we do today, We
either move forward or backwards
-never stand still. We barter
away tomorrow for fear of today.
We must be responsible for what
had been given us --must get
involved to retain our credibility.
If we 'are willing to get involved,
God will see that we get suste-
nance to carry us through..
Supported by the Huron Cente-
nnial School choir, the congre-
gation enjoyed several selections
of religious Folk Songs and po-
pular lyrics.. These young
people are led by Mrs. Doris
McKinley and accompanied
at the piano by Mrs. Mary Mof-
fatt. Solo part was taken by
Susan McAllister and the choir
of over 60 voices accompanied
themselves, in many cases, with
ukuleles, a double bass and cym-
bals, stressing the rhythm of
each piece.
Next Sunday, the Sacrament of
the Lord's Supper and Confir-
mation of new members will take
place, with a reception to follow.
Unit 4 will meet on. Thursday
