Wilbur Rogers when he returned to Hensall United Church after an absence of over 20 years to preach to the Anniversary Services on Sunday. Taking as his, subject, "What are we doing with the future NOW?" he told us that we have to face tomorrow the conse- quences of what we do today, We either move forward or backwards -never stand still. We barter away tomorrow for fear of today. We must be responsible for what had been given us --must get involved to retain our credibility. If we 'are willing to get involved, God will see that we get suste- nance to carry us through.. Supported by the Huron Cente- nnial School choir, the congre- gation enjoyed several selections of religious Folk Songs and po- pular lyrics.. These young people are led by Mrs. Doris McKinley and accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Mary Mof- fatt. Solo part was taken by Susan McAllister and the choir of over 60 voices accompanied themselves, in many cases, with ukuleles, a double bass and cym- bals, stressing the rhythm of each piece. Next Sunday, the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper and Confir- mation of new members will take place, with a reception to follow. Unit 4 will meet on. Fete bride -elect The Legion Hall was the set- ting for a bridal shower on Thurs- day evening when neighbours and friends gathered in honour of Miss Katharine McEwen of Guelph, bride -elect of this week. Contests were directed by Mrs. Stewart Bell, and Mrs. Jack Corbett gave humourus readings entitled "Hospital Wedding" and "A Mother's letter to her son". The Bride -elect assisted by Miss Sandra Munn and Mrs. Bill Munn was presented with a shower of ' miscelaneous gifts by Mrs. Bell, Mrs. J. Simmons and Mrs. • Mona Campbell.
