GRAND BEND
Ladies from the area who
attended the 4H Achievement
Day, Saturday afternoon, held
at Stephen Central School were
Mrs, Rosie Grigg, Mrs: Raymond
Kading, Mrs. Hugh Morenz,
Mrs. J.Smeekins and Mrs. A.
Walper, the Latter two being the
4H club leaders. The 41-1 girls
presented a humorous skit,
entitled, Goldilocks and the
three bears."
This course on "A touch of
stitcherv" brought forth many
rine exhibits and handwork of
the girls,
Three of the Grand Bend
4H elub girls received their
Provincial Honours, Lia Smee-
kens, Jane Kelders and Mathilda
Van Lecuw en.
Rev. Harley Moore attended
the 52nd annual London area
conference of the United Church,
in Windsor Tuesday, Wednes-
day, Lind Them day.
Mr. & Mrs. Ross Marshall
of Gillroad and their grand-
daughert, Cindy Down of Exeter
attended the Spring Convocation
at the University of Toronto,
last Monday, when their daughter
Pauline Iris (Marshall) Motz,
graduated as a Doctor of Med-
icine. She will be interning
the next few years in Toronto.
Gail Willard of Exeter spent
the weekend with her grand-
mother, Mrs: Raymond Kading.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Lawrence,
Mrs. Kathy Tomlinson, Mrs. Ada
Wilson. Mrs. Jean Sharen and
Mrs. Robert Sharcn, went on
the three day charter bus trip
,, the Tulip Festival in Ottawa

Special interest tours around
Ottawa included a boat trip
up the Rideau Canal, to the
Parliament buildings, Gatineau
Hills. National Museum of
Science and Technology, RCMP
training college, the Prime
Minister's and Governor Gener-
al's homes and the residences
of the ambassadors of foreign
countries.
Mr. & Mrs. ,Tack Raymond of
London were weekend guests
\k ith Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Graham.
Bill Stokes, of London, formerly
of Grand Bend, is a patient in
University Hospital, London
where he underwent open
heart surgery and is corning
along fine:

Harold Dean, of Hartford. He
had participated in a work -
camp in the Barbados,, and
showed slides with commentary.
While he was in Barbados they
erected a small church.
Ferman Snyder was the
soloist, singing "The Ninety
and Nine" accompanied by
Mrs. J. Campbell.
Doug Steckle, 15 year old son
of Mr. & Mrs. John Stecklc,
played the organ for the first
time at the evening service
of Church of God.
Rev. and Mrs. Edwin- Wattam
of St. Catharines attended the
morning -service at Church
of God. Rev. Wattam was on
a speaking engagement in this
rca.
