Zurich hydro
to adjust rates
The Zurich Hydro System has
made application to Ontario
Hydro for retail rate adjustment
which would amount to an in-
crease of about 17 percent
overall.
Hydro chairman Leroy Thiel
told council members Wednesday
night that the proposed increase
was discussed recently with
Hazen Bagley of Ontario Hydro.
Bagley presented an up to
date rate adjustment summary
which showed revenue at existing
rates and revenue at proposed
new rates.
Thiel told council, "It was seen
from the proposal that if we did
not increase the rates, our work-
ing funds would be approxi-
mately $6,677 in the red by the
end of 1976."

He continued, "The 22 percent
rate increase charge to our
utility on. Januar' 1 of this year
by Ontario Hydro brought about
the need for a rate adjustment."
The 17 percent increase to
Zurich hydro users will likely take
effect about July 1 of this year.
The Hydro chairman told
council municipalities always
face a problem with rate increases
because it takes about six months
after a provincial rise before
the local utility can up their
rates.
An amendment to the Hydro
Subdivision agreement announc-
ed a month ago would allow
charges made under Schedule B
to be reviewed annually.
Any portion of the develop-
ment covered by this agreement
and not completed at the time of
such reviews will be subject to
amendments in accordance with
Schedule B charges approved by
the Corporaion and in effect at
the time of the review.
