The 125 junior, which, with 115 riders was the biggest class, was won by Marten Vanden- broek of Sarnia, Clark Davis of Burlington, was second and Larry Aelterman, of Simcoe third. Adrian Kemps of London won the 250 c.c. junior, with Dan Schwann of Sarnia, second and Ron Kelly of London third. The open junior was won by Steve Ritchie of Lucknow, follow- ed by Mike Foster of Trenton and Dave Wilson of Drumbo. Mike Read of Burlington won the schoolboy (8-15 years of age) bigwheel class (100 c.c.), Tom Bowman of Cambridge, was second and Perry Thornton of London third. Mrs. Jack Hunt was the auctioneer, assist- ed by Mrs. David Roy, There was an excellent attendance, and two new members, Mrs. Keith Stephenson and Mrs, Bob Rob- erts, were received. Mrs. Robt. Stirling opened the meeting with a poem "Seeds of Goodness". The worship ser- vice was on the theme of flowers, comparing their characteristics with those of women. Scripture was from Proverbs 31:10 to 31. The committee which presented the worship service consisted of Mrs. Jack Hunt, Mrs. David Roy, Mrs. Win. Taylor and Mrs. Keith Stephenson. Mrs. Ralph Stephenson read the minutes of the Last meeting, and Mrs. Mervyn Hayter gave the treas- urer's report. The dessert euchre and bake sale was a great success. In the Cancer Society canvass, done in this area by U.C.W. members, $213.00 was collected, Mrs. Tom Consitt, the delegate to the Flowers of Hope meeting at the A.R.C. Workshop in Dashwood, reported that $8,000.00 is needed from the canvass this year for the projects and services for mentally retarded in this area. All money collected is used locally. 1 by Milvena Erickson Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ducharme, Bluewater High- way, have returned home from a very enjoyable holiday in Florida. Among the many interesting places they visited w,as Disneyland near Orlando. Mr. and Mrs. Ducharme were the guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Siemon of Goderich, on their trip. Young Scott • Arm strong , the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Armstrong, visited for the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Rick Talbot, Lori and Cindy, while his parents attended the wedding of his uncle Alan Armstrong in Ottawa on Friday, May 7. +++ Mr. Kenneth Weston of Farmington, Mich. en- tertained several of his friends from Michigan at his cottage on the weekend. Guests included, Tan Halverson, Robert Wilson, Ronald Watson, Donald Armstrong, Norman Lubieniecki, Walter Scobie, Dennis Hutting, Jacques Weston, K. Graves Weston and Brett Weston. Kenneth Weston prides himself by usually being the first one in their area in swimming in the spring; however Brett beat him in by a few minutes this year on May 8. rye _,. Taylor closed the regular meeting with a Mother's Day poem and a delicious lunch was served by the committee following the plant sale. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Chessell and Brian spent the weekend in Stratford visiting Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Adair and family and at a family gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Chessell and Charles. Mrs. Florence Elliott was a guest at the Nathan Smith - Patricia Patterson wedding in Clinton on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Murray had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Ross Plumpton of Brighton, from Wednesday until Friday. Glad to hear that Mrs. Flora Dowson was able to leave hospital last Wednesday.
