HomeMy WebLinkAboutZurich Citizens News, 1976-05-05, Page 25Page 26 -Citizens News, May 6/76 Oddfel lows at Varna The Oddfellows Lodges of Huron District No. 8 and the Rebekahs of Huron District No. 23 held their annual church parade in Varna on Sunday, the custom being to have it in the home church of the District Deputy of the Oddfellows, who is Wm. Taylor. Glenn McGregor of Brucefield led the parade to and from the church with bagpipe music. Special music during the service was provided by Pete Postill, who sang two solos. The Oddfellows is a fraternity which gives much assistance to their members if there is any need, and is involved in a great deal of charitable work in the Queensway Happenings Mrs. May Ford was pleasantly surprised by a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ferris and son Jeremy Jaynes of Sechelt, B.C. Other visitors are as follows: Mrs Shirley Prouty visited Lynn Latimore. Mrs. McDonald'visit- ed her husband Roy McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Jim McNaughton visited Mrs. Ada Smillie. Mr. Leslie Mitchell, Miss Verna Coates and Jean Munn visited Louise Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Schenk, Mrs. Schenk visited with Hugo Schenk. Leslie Fisher, R.R. #2, Blenheim, visit- ed with his sister Mrs. Roy Parlmer. Chester and Illa Dunn visited Vera Lammie and Roy McDonald. Arnold and Mary Ford and Mrs. Mary Kirk of Exeter visited Mrs. May Ford. George, Maria, Linda and Car- men Mathonia visited with Mrs. Jeffrey. Rev. Glenn Wright conducted the church service on Thurs- day with Louise Mitchell at the piano.
