Zurich Citizens News, 1976-04-28, Page 19Mensal! By Hilda M. Payne Agriculture Sunday is some- thing new in chuch worship, but that is exactly what the ser- vice was called in Hensall United Chuch on Sunday. Mr, Dave Brock, a local farmer, who has recently attended a conference in London on the World Food Crisis, spoke to us on that topic during sermon time, He pointed out that it is not always possible to help the "Third World Na- tions" by sending food as we may even be taking away their livelihood by doing so. Leading up to his talk were bible readings and prayers and hymns on the agricultural topic. Rev. Don Beck was in charge of the service assisted at the organ by Mrs. John Turkheim. The choir sang the anthem, "1 have decided to follow Jesus." During the service, Shane Roy, son of Mr. & Mrs. Albert Pepper, was presented for Baptism. Mr. & Mrs. John Consitt, Mr. & Mrs. Larry Consitt, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Taylor and Mr. & Mrs. John Taylor attended the Munn - Connelly wedding at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Goder- ich on Saturday. Unit 2 of Hensall United Churchdid not hold their usual monthly meetipg during April but instead met for a "fun evening" last Saturday night when nine members and friends went bowling. Champions we were not unless you count the record breaking low score of 42 someone finished with. Then there was the player who had recently suffered a broken wrist -- she found she could bowl best by doing the thing backwards -- with both hands. Some of us even forget at times that the ball was supposed to stay in the alley --at least we didn't really forget, but our hands and arms just didn't co-operate. On the other hand, such screams of triumph you never heard before, when some of us scored a spare or even the GREATEST, a'strike! Fun even- ing it certainly was. Oh, well! who knows, we may produce a champion yet. "If at first you don't succeed,... Beer bottles Ontario beer drinkers are returning beer bottles for refund in record high numbers, Brewers Warehousing Company announc- ed today, one year after the refundable deposit on 12 oz, bottles was raised from 2 to 5(P The latest brewing industry figures show that 98 percent of all beer bottles sold in Ontario are returned for refund. The statistics represent a two percent increase over last year. A spokesman for Brewers Warehousing said an Ontario beer bottle is refilled an average of 25 times. The number of trips a bottle makes, from brewery to consumer, is based on the over- all bottle return rate.
