Kippen WI instal slate
Mrs. Al Hoggarth was installed
president of Kippen East W.I.'
at the annual meeting which was
preceded •by a pot luck supper,
April 21. The roll call was an-
swered by naming your first
school teacher and bringing an
old time and a present picture
of your home. The motto,
"Don't clutter up your life
needlessly" was given by Mrs,
Hugh Parsons. Mrs. H. Caldwell
and Mrs. Grant McLean were
presented with life membership
pins and certificates. Mrs. E.
Whitehouse gave current events.
Mrs. H. Caldwell, chairman of
the nominating committee gave
that report and Mrs. R. Bell
was in charge of the elections
and installation of officers and
conveners. A bit of fun and
nonsense followed with a hit and
miss fashion show, readings and
a sing song. Mrs. Al Hoggarth
and Mrs. Grace Drummond
received a gift for perfect attend-
ance, Mona Alderdice for taking
Grace Drummond. to hospital and
Phyllis Parson for correctly
guessing the contents of a
parcel. Secret Pal identities were
revealed. Reports indicated
the meetings had been inter-
esting, educational and humor-
ous. Members had contributed
to the Erland Lee Homestead
Fund, Pennies for Friendship,
Nutrition Education given help
to a burned out family and a
needy family. New cookbooks
went on sale, a booth at the
Bean Festival, several bake
sales, euchre parties .and a yard
sale helped out the finances.
A bus trip, bowling and enter-
taining patients at Huronview
Mr. Elzar Mousseau is a
patient in Seaforth hospital.
Mr. & Mrs. Clayton Cooper
ttnd family have moved back to
make their hone in Kippen.
and the Bluewater Rest Home
were some of the activities.
Mrs. R. Kinsman was in charge
of the business. Mrs. Al Hog-
garth, leader of the winners of the
roll call contest, was in charge of
the program. Mrs. H. Caldwell
leader of the lasers was in charge
of the pot luck supper. The
following officers were installed.:

branch directors, Mrs. Harry
caldwcll, Mrs. Grant McLean,
Mrs. Vern Alderdice.
