Zurich Citizens News, 1976-04-28, Page 14Funeral services for resort woman Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Agnes (Turnbull) Patterson, widow of the late Garnet Patterson, at the T. Harry Hoffman Funeral home, Dashwood with Rev. H. Moore officiating. She passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Sarnia, on Sunday, April 18, 1976, in her 75th year. She is survived by two daugh- ters (Eileen) Mrs. Earl Burr, of Sarnia and (Shirley) Mrs, Ralph McCormick, of Toronto, 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Ed Gill and Mrs. Janet Desjardine of Grand Bend, Mrs. Ruth Hendrick and Mrs. Olive Miller, both of RR 1. Dashwood. Pallbearers were six nephews, Keith Gill, Russell Desjardine, Wayne Miller, Rick Hendrick, Jim and Donald Patterson. Interment was at Grand Bend cemetery. and discussed a skit for achieve- ment day, Horne assignment was to complete sampler and mount in Record book, also complete learning stitches article and work on free choice article. They read how to score for judging needlework and next meeting is to be held at Mrs. 3. Smeeken's home. PERSONALS Emery Desiardins was notified by a phone call from Stettler, Alberta, last week, of the death of his eldest brother's wife, Mrs. Ezra DesJardins in her 84th year. She was the former Mar- garet McPhee, and at one time resided on the 16th concession of Stephen township, on the farm owned by the late Mr. & Mrs. Ed Lamport, and at present the home of Mr. & Mrs. Sid Durie & Glenn. 4H Mrs. Violet Dunn is a patient at South Huron hospital, Exeter. The Grand Bend 4H club girls "Steady Stitchers" held their sixth meeting Monday evening at Mrs. Allan Walper's home. Roll call was answered by an idea for your club's achievement day. Mr. & Mrs. Art Webb have returned home to Green Acres after spending five and a half months in Central Florida. Special musical guests at the United Church, Sunday morning were about 35 children from Stephen Central school, under the direction of Don Finkbeiner, with Mrs. Pat Soidan at the organ. Rev. H. Moore's sermon topic was, `Five smooth stones", and the story of David and Goliath. Art Finkbeiner was taken to St. Joseph's hospital, London, Sunday morning. Mrs. Fred Peters returned to her home after spending six weeks with her son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peters and family in Port Alice, B.C. Mrs. Gertrude Middleton und- erwent surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, last week. Bill Hoy visited with his brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoy, Erin and Alyson, in London over the weekend and left by plane for his home in Calgary. The Ladies' of the Presbyterian under the direction of Mrs. Rochus Faber entertained the residents on Monday after- noon playing Bingo.
