Don It BEST - SENIOR CITIZENS Jeff Knight and Mike Backwell of the New Horizon grants met with a group of Dash -wood Senior Citizens to discuss the formation of a senior citizens group and available grants for projects. it was decided to hold the next meeting April 26 at 8:30 p.m. in the community centre, all senior citizens are urged to attend. Citizens News, April 21/76 - Page 7 Easter busy at Dashwood EASTER SERVICES Special services were held in the United Church and Luther- an church both for Good Friday and Easter, Sunday the Youth of Zion Lutheran Church conducted a Sunrise Service under the leadership of Ernie and Shiela Miller, Cathy Becker was narr- ator. Others in the cast were Brian Rader, Jesus: Eleanor Salmon, Mary; Peter Datars, disciple Peter; Jeff Hayter, disciple Thomas; Tom Hayter and Marty Becker guards; Cindy Becker cross bearer; Elizabeth Datars, Mary, mother of Janes; Jayne Hayter and Sue -Ann Becker, mourners; Laurie Becker and Vickie Miller angels; Dan Overholt playing guitar. Following the service 110 enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, syrup and hot cross buns in the basement, served by the Youth and their mothers. UCW MEETING UCW meeting of Calvary United Church met Tuesday April 13th with the Steward- ship and Recruiting committee in charge and Mrs. Jessie Rader chairlady. Responsive reading "Despised and Rejected by Men" was read followed by prayer by Mrs. Jack Gaiser. Mrs. Gordon Bender read "White Lilies." A film "Crucifixion and the Resurrection" was shown. Mrs. Syd Neeb read a poem "Follow ...me." Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan, president conducted the business. Nineteen members answered the roll call. Rev. Bruce Guy discussed the drinking age. The ladies were reminded to keep May 16th 7:30 p.m. open as Dundas St. choir from London will sing at Calvary United Church. The Sunshine Committee is Mrs, Jessie Rader and Mrs. Syd Neeb. BIRTHDAY PARTY A surprise birthday party was held Saturday evening at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Delmar Miller to honor four people with April birthdays, namely Delmar, Anthony Martene, Lorne Becker and Sherrie Slade. Euchre was played with winners, ladies high Shirley Martene; low, Isabel Becker; men's high, Delmar Miller; low, Wilmer Pfaff; lone hands, Jack Hogan. Lunch was served. 4-H GIRLS 4-H Dashwood girls club No. 3 "Nimble Thimble" held their meeting with Maxine Miller leader teaching the girls color harmony. Two groups were formed and the leaders showed the girls how to enlarge a design. They also learned how -to make the twisted chain stitch which they put on their sampler. STUDENTS RETREAT - As part of Education Week a religious retreat was held at Ecole Ste. Marie at St. Joseph.
