Kippen 14-H Club
The first meeting of the Kippen
Chain Gang was held at McLel-
lans on Wednesday, February 25,
1976. The election of officers was
held; President, Diana Oud;
Vice -President, Sandra McKay;
and a floating secretary was
decided upon, The next meeting
will be March 3 at McLellans.
The leaders described what would
have to be done in the entire
Club. They explained the "Color
Wheel". Lunch was served.
Mr. & Mrs. Alex McGregor,
Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Hugill, who
spent the last couple of weeks in
Florida, have returned home.
Mr. & Mrs. Anderson Gibson,
Wroxeter, visited with Mr. &
Mrs, W.L. Mellis recently,
Mr. & Mrs. Alex McMurtrie, who
have been vacationing in Mexico,
have returned home.
Mr. Rochus Faber is vacation-
ing in Florida.
Sympathy is expressed to Mr.
Elzar Mousseau in the death of
his sister; Mrs. Melville Smith,
Zurich.
Wedding bells are ringing in
the Kippen area and a number of
residents attended the receiption
for Mr. & Mr's. John Timmer -
mans in the Pine Ridge Chalet
Friday, March 12.
Kippen East W.I. entertain-
ed the residents at Huronview
and the Blue Water Rest Home
on March 10. he program con-
sisted of a rousing sing song led
by Ruby Triebner, a skit, "The
Women's Institute", was pre -
seined ..by Mona Alderdice and
Margaret Hoggarth, readings
by Rena Caldwell, Marlene Bell,
piano selections by Janet Hog-
garth, Frances Kinsman and
Mary Broadfoot, duet by Janet
and Margaret Hoggart, quartelle
by Ruby Triebner, Rena Caldwell,
Frances Kinsman and Margaret
hoggarth. Those, with birthdays
in March were_ presented with a
gift. Lunch was 'served. In
charge of the program were
Margaret Hoggarth and Ruby
Triebner.
The U.C.W. of St. Andrews
Church, Kippen, held the March
meeting at the church with a
good attendance.
Mrs. June Cooper opened the
meeting with the worship fol-
lowed by the topic given by Mrs.
David Turner.
Mrs. David Cooper, president,
took over for a lengthy business
meeting. A bake sale is to be held
April 10, watch the paper for time
and place. Also members of
the church are reminded of the
cleaning bee March 22. Come
either afternoon or morning or
both and bring equipment to
work with.
Mrs. Hank Binnendyk gave
courtesy remarks and the meeting
closed with the hymn, "Thank
you Lord".
A lovely lunch was served by
the hostesses Mrs. Keith Lovell
and Mrs. John Cooper.
