BLUE WATER REST HOME'
-ems:• .r......, ,ic, s.rt..
I am sure most people felt
like jumping for joy when the
lights of Zurich blinked on early
Sunday evening after the elect-
ricity had been crippled for five
days as a result of the sleet storm.
The Home is very fortunate
in that we have auxiliary power
in case of emergency, so every-
one was warm here, and with the
aid of borrowed camp stoves
and good Samaritans who had
gas ovens, good hot meals were
available for all residents. How-
ever, many enjoyed their toast
for breakfast and the hot water
facilities on Monday morning.
Last Monday evening films
were shown and refresh-
ments enjoyed.
On Tuesday evening, the
Auxiliary meeting and program
for the residents had to be can-
celled due to weather conditions.
Needless to say, everything
was very quiet around here dur-
ing the week, however, one of
the TV's was operated by the
generator and residents were
Z
h
t
able to enjoy their programmes
during the evenings.
If any of our readers happen to
have odds and ends of flanelette
suitable for crib quilts or other
types of quilts, the residents
could make good use of them,
also, all of our nylons have been
used up, so we are in the market
for clean panty hose and nylons.
Bingo was changed to Friday
afternoon instead of the evening
because of lighting facilities.
We would like to remind you
of our Annual Meeting which will
be held on Tuesday evening,
March 16 at 8 p.m. at the Horne.
All interested citizens of the surr-
ounding area are welcome to
attend, also anyone who might
have questions concerning
The Maple Woods Apartments
for Seniors across the road,
which will be ready for occup-
ancy in the early spring.
Rev. A.C. Blackwell of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich,
conducted the chapel service
Sunday morning.
