INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE
The Ever Young Senior Citi-
zens enjoyed a quilting party
last Thursday and Friday. The
non-quilters supplied the lunch
and the quilt was finished. They
are planning to sell tickets on it
soon. The quilt top was donated
to the club by Mrs. Mary Weston
of the Bluewater Rest Horne,
Zurich and a former Bayfield
resident.
Mr. and Mrs, Ken Mackie,
Jim, Stephen and Joanne of
London were Sunday guests of
Mrs. Mackie's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Makins.
Mrs. W.E. Morley, Cleveland,
Ohio, spent a few days with her
son Robertt at their home in
the Village. Also with them were
Mrs. Morely's brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Burt of St. Catharines and
Miss Gerry Kristoff of Cleveland,
Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Parker,
Charlie, Kim and Jennifer,
London were the weekend guests
of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Parker. Visiting Sunday was
their son and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Parker, Jack and
David of Dorchester.
Mrs. Berthena Hammond
spent last weekend with her
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Florian
and Dennis in Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Pollock,
London, and Mr. Ernie Pollock
of Varna visited Sunday with
Mrs. Milton Pollock, Goshen
Line.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Blackie,
London were guests for the
weekend with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Blackie, R.R. #1,
Varna.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Oesch
and family, Wellesley; Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Lamont and Scott,
Goderich; Miss Sharon Oesch and
Mr, Charles King, Stratford spent
Sunday with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. William Oesch and
sister Terry, Goshen Line.'
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Latimer,
Downsview, visited for the week-
end with Bill's grandmother
Mrs. G.L. Knight.
Mr. Bud Sturgeon and Miss
Barbara Davidson, London were
guests for the weekend with
Bud's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack B. Sturgeon and brother
Andrew. Joining the family for
Valentine's Day dinner were Mr.
and Mrs. Garry Potter and little
Merry of R.R. #3, Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hartz,
Grosse Pointe, Michigan were
registered guests at the Albion
Hotel for the weekend.
Mrs. Margaret Garrett and
Mrs. Ross Coutts returned on
Thursday after spending almost
three weeks on a vacation trip to
Marathon, Key West, Florida
and Delray Beach, Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cluff,
Rob and Tara, London were the
weekend guests of Mr. Fred
LeBeau and on Sunday visited
Mrs. LeBeau in Goderich Hospit-
al.
Mr. and Mrs. Jing Beatty and
family, Toronto; and Mr. and
Mrs. Vic Lacompte and Chantelle
of Toronto spent the weekend at
their. respective cottages on
Howard Street.
Mr. Norman F. Cooper, Mount
Clemens, Michigan was at
his Village residence on Clan
Gregor Square for the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Rob Irwin and
Robbie, London were Friday
guests of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E.W. Erickson and family.
Best wishes to Mrs. Fred Le -
Beau who is recuperating at home
after being in Goderich Gener-
al Hospital for a few days.
Trinity Church Ladies Guild
met for their regular meeting on
Tuesday, February 10 in the
Parish Hall, with 14 members and
two visitors present.
President, Mrs. R. Roy Fitz-
simons presided and introduced
guests, Mrs. G. Shepherd and
Mrs. William Bennett. She also
thanked the hostess, Mrs. Merton
Merner. Mrs. L.W. Scotchmer
read a very lovely poem entitled
"If After Church". Secretary,
Mrs. Berthena Hammond read
her report and moved its accept-
ance. All correspondence was
received and moved for filing.
Mrs. Merton Mercer, treas-
urer, gave her report which
was approved. Mrs. Fitzsimons
then turned the Card and Flower
Secretary's duties over to Mrs.
Maude Weston, after reporting
the sending of a sympathy mess-
age to the family of the late Mrs.
(Bishop) McQueen; a birthday
card to Mr. Emmerson Heard and
a "Thinking of You" to Mr.
Harold Murney who is hospital-
ized.
Birthday money was paid by
Mrs. Berthena Hammond and
dues were collected. Mrs.
Bennett joined the Guild during
the meeting and was welcomed as
a member.
It was decided to ask the W.A.
of St. Janes, Middleton, to bring
cookies for the social hour
to follow the Induction Service
of the Rector, Rev. William
Bennett on Friday, February 20
at 7:00 p.m. to be held in Trinity
Church.
Plans were made for several
functions for this year. The
Laides set Euchre and Bridge
parties for Friday April 23
and Friday, October 22; and the
Annual Christmas Bazaar on
Saturday November 20. All
events to be held in the Parish
Hall.

social hour which followed the
meeting, the Ladies resorted all
the silverware in the Parish Hall
kitchen and placed it in new
trays recently purchased.
