Close to 900 people enjoyed a
pancake breakfast at the Pine
Ridge Chalet last Sunday, making
this portion of the Crippled Child
ren's weekend a success.
However, gate receipts and
food sales were down from last
year, mainly due to the rainy
weather. The weather discour-
aged many snowmobllers and
while the Chalet was full, not
many participated in the outdoor
programs.
Shirley Mousseau; one of the
organizers of the weekend, says
they are pleased the weekend
went as well as it did, They do
not Ixpect to match the $4400
they made last year, but the
London Crippled Children's
Centre did make money. Just
how much money is not known,
as a $250 terrarium and half
a pig were donated at the last
minute. Tickets are now on sale
for these two items. The raffle
will take place March 20.
The money made over the
weekend goes directly to the
London Centre and is used for
special equipment and trans-
portation costs not covered by
the government grants the
Hensall and area news
Mrs. Margaret Evans of Water-
loo was a recent visitor with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. R.Y.
MacLaren.
Mr. and Mrs. William Brown of
Seaforth were visitors this week
with Mrs. F.G. Bonthron.
Mr. and Mrs. George Parker
and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Mc—
Bride of Kippen returned home
from a winter holday at Hunts-
ville.
Chiselhurst Ladies Hold
Pot Luck Dinner
The Ladies of Chiselhurst
United Church held a "Pot Luck
Dinner" and quilting at the
church on Tuesday February 10.
They held their U.C.W. meeting
in the afternoon with President
Mrs. Dorothy Parker opening
the meeting with a poem. The
Roll Call was answered by the
members reading the Beatitudes.
A "Thank -You" note was read
from the Children's Aid Society
for the donation at Christmas
time. The World's Day of Prayer
Service will be held in St. Paul's
Anglican Church Hensall on
March 5 at 2:30 p.m. The ladies
of the church will entertain at
the Queensway Nursing Horne for
the month of March. Mrs. Marg
Cole and Mrs. Mary Brintnell
volunteered to visit until the
next meeting. Mrs. Vera Ross
played a meldoy of tunes on the
piano.
Mrs. Mary Brintnell was in
charge of the worship "The Gra-
.cious 'Invitation Come and Dine"
with all members seated around a
table. Four speakers took part
namely: Mrs. Rosa Harris,
Mrs. Phyllis Parsons, Mrs. Marg
Upshall, and Mrs. Marg Cole.
The ladies remained and Mrs.

Mrs. Eva Kaiser
Mrs. Eva Kaiser, formerly
of Detroit passed away suddenly
at her late residence, Hensall on
Saturday, February 14 in her
seventy-first year. She was the
former Eva Zapfe and wife of the
late Ben Kaiser. Surviving is her
sister Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Consitt,
Hensall and brother Austin
Zapfe, London. Also surviving
are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held from
the Bonthron Funeral Chapel
on Tuesday February 17th at
2 p.m. with Rev. D. Beck officiat-
ing. Interment in Bairds Ceme-
tery.

Dorothy Brintnell led in a Bible
Study on John Chapter V verses
1-36. The meeting closed with
prayer and Mrs. Boyce was host-
ess for the lunch.
Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
on Sunday, the sermon subject
was "A Faith that would not be
denied".
Centre receives.
Although the rainy weather
delayed some of the races, before
Sunday was over all scheduled
races and draws had been com-
pleted. The results are as
